About Rippling

Rippling is the first way for businesses to manage all of their HR & IT—payroll, benefits, computers, apps, and more—in one unified workforce platform.

By connecting every business system to one source of truth for employee data, businesses can automate all of the manual work they normally need to do to make employee changes. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can just click a button and set up a new employees’ payroll, health insurance, work computer, and third-party apps—like Slack, Zoom, and Office 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $700M from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, and Bedrock—and was named one of America’s best startup employers by Forbes (#12 out of 500).

About the role

Since it was founded in 2016, Rippling has launched 18 products and counting. But unlike other SaaS offerings, these aren’t just pet projects riding the coattails of a core solution. Each new SKU is critical to Rippling’s mission. For our growth to keep pace with our innovation, we need to tell the right story for every single product.

We’re looking for a Copywriter who can support the Product Marketing team (PMM) on strategic product areas. You’ll serve as a partner to PMM in all things words and storytelling, while sitting on a brand team of 25+ creatives who regularly share work—and Photoshop hijinx—with one another.

You’ll lead copy on our core PMM assets, like web pages and launch emails. You’ll also help the team identify new content opportunities and execute them. If you love sinking your teeth into complex subject matter (and simplifying it for others in clean, punchy prose), this one’s for you.

What you will do:

  • Own content for an entire suite of Rippling’s products, acting as a go-to subject matter expert for people across the company
  • Concept, write, and edit copy across a range of mediums, both short and long-form, including web pages, emails, blog posts, and whitepapers
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Rippling’s growing product portfolio, GTM, and overall vision
  • Serve as a strategic partner to PMM, translating industry and customer research into compelling, ownable product messaging
  • Collaborate with web designers and other Brand team members to ensure copy not only complements design but strengthens it
  • Be an organized self-starter who can navigate ambiguity comfortably—we’ve figured out a lot, but parts of our business are still unstructured

What you will need:

  • 5-7 years experience writing at a tech company, ad agency, or similar professional environment. B2B SaaS experience is strongly preferred.
  • Versatility. Rippling’s voice has many different applications. You’ll need to code-switch between sounding authoritative on a web page and sounding warm in a blog post.
  • An ability and appetite to learn about our business’s inner workings, our audiences’ pain points, and the technology behind our products
  • Critical-thinking skills! Everyone here is thorough and smart, but they’re counting on you to read a spec, a brief, or a first draft and ask follow-up questions.

If you don’t meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply. No job description is perfect, and we might find an even more suitable opportunity that matches your skills and experience.

Rippling is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce and do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, sexual orientation, veteran or military status, or any other legally protected characteristics.  Rippling is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities who need assistance during the hiring process. To request a reasonable accommodation, please email accommodations[at]

We are committed both to the health of our employees and to promoting a safe and collaborative workplace, and vaccinations are the best way to end the COVID-19 pandemic and to protect our community. In the U.S., where permitted under federal and state law, all offers of employment will be conditioned upon new hires providing proof of vaccination prior to their start date, unless the individual qualifies for an accommodation. For all other locations, vaccinations are strongly encouraged.
