GET TO KNOW US

Gympass is a corporate wellness platform that connects you to thousands of fitness & wellness partners, all with one simple monthly membership. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in NYC, we have a growing global team in 11 offices around the world. At Gympass, you not only have the opportunity to build a career in a fast-paced global environment - but you'll make wellbeing universal, so everyone can be happy and healthy.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re hiring a Senior UX Writer to write for Gympass clients in New York, US!!

The UX Writing team plays a pivotal role in crafting the words and messages that guide users, clients and partners through Gympass products and services. From error messages to onboarding flows, our team designs communication solutions to guide and engage, simplifying complex concepts and championing consistency.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Be the voice of UX Writing on our client squad within the Product Team, explaining your rationale to developers, product designers, and product managers. Use creative thinking to approach problems in an innovative way, always focusing on collaboration and research
  • Turn complex concepts into clear, concise, and compelling copy based on the product voice, considering readability, and information architecture, among other things
  • Write interface copy for all Gympass products. Your work can include headlines, body copy, calls to action, navigation labels, error messages, onboarding flows, FAQs, and transactional emails
  • Maintain consistency and storytelling throughout the user's journey within the product
  • Be interested in accessibility rules and investigate how to apply them in your own copy
  • Be an independent thinker and be able to bring in your opinions to constantly improve the voice and tone and our style guide
  • Work with people across the Gympass’ organization and departments to promote UX writing as a discipline
  • Be confident of your UX knowledge and always be willing to improve. Approach conversations about usability, accessibility, and research. You understand that writing is just a small part of the job
  • Be proactive and prioritize your own workload. Feel confident to make decisions and lead initiatives
  • Interest in planning and moderating collaborative activities, like writing critiques.
  • Live the mission: inspire and empower others by genuinely caring for your own wellbeing and your colleagues. Bring wellbeing to the forefront of work, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves, taking time off, and finding work-life balance.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re enthusiastic and curious about the possibilities of digital writing. You keep up to speed with all the latest technical and storytelling trends and you take every opportunity to put them into action in your day-to-day work.

  • An excellent communicator, that doesn’t need a lot of words or jargons to make a point understandable.
  • A continuous  learner of new UX trends and research. You can’t stop listening to that Monday morning podcast, and you engage in conversations about these topics like a person who just met their first love.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience of UX writing, content strategy, technical writing or any field of writing that focuses on User Experience (not Marketing or Advertising)
  • Ability to conduct usability tests with prototypes (rough drafts and sketches, paper prototypes, working prototypes) and live builds is a plus.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly develop recommendations based on usability tests
  • Excellent communication skills is a must. You must  be able to articulate ideas clearly when speaking in English (Spanish is a huge plus)
  • Ability to organize and prioritize while working on multiple, simultaneous projects of varied size and complexity
  • A UX writing portfolio with multiple case studies - websites, chatbots, apps or games - is a plus.

We recognize that individuals approach job applications differently. We strongly encourage all aspiring applicants to go for it, even if they don't match the job description 100%. We welcome your application and will be delighted to explore if you could be a great fit for our team.
