The Freemium R&D team oversees the entire user journey on Spotify and ensures we engage with people in innovative ways, every step of the way. Our team grows Spotify’s audience by finding future listeners around the world and delivering the right value to them, at the right time. With research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing all collaborating in one organization, we’re able to quickly create meaningful features and services for millions of people around the world, resulting in joyful, long-lasting relationships with Spotify.
We’re looking for a seasoned UX writer to partner with design, product, engineering, and research teams to shape great experiences for millions of listeners. In this role, you’d be the steward for product communications related to Spotify Premium — from its current plans like Duo and Family to future opportunities like… secret stuff we can’t talk about yet! You’re a storyteller, editor, and design thinker who can create compelling content that empowers and delights people across lots of different audiences. You have a knack for taking things that are technically complex and making them understandable and relatable — helping listeners connect with our brand and product.
What you'll do
- Write clear, consistent, and concise copy
- Explore conceptual opportunities in addition to tactical solutions
- Collaborate with designers, researchers, prototypers, product managers, and engineers to deliver UX awesomeness
- Think beyond words, and understand how data, visuals, and images can help listeners connect with content
- Present and rationalize your work to stakeholders
- Leverage data and research to evaluate the impact of your work
Who you are
- You’ve got somewhere in the neighbourhood of 5 years of experience in UX writing, content design, or writing and editing content for mobile and web (more or less experience is totally cool, too!).
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You can effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- You like solving problems and figuring stuff out.
- You have experience working with Localisation teams and understand transcreation - this would be an added bonus.
- You’ve created and maintained glossaries or style guides for different products or regions.
- You have experience planning and participating in quantitative and qualitative research.
When applying, please send us a portfolio of work that shows a range of work you’ve done. Also include a brief explanation in your application of why you’re excited about this role, and about Spotify. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, those without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
Where you'll be
- We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
- Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the EMEA region in which we have a work location
- Prefer an office to work from home instead? Not a problem! We have plenty of options for your working preferences. Find more information about our Work From Anywhere options here.
- Working hours? We operate within the Central European time zone for collaboration
