Overview
We’re looking for an experienced User Researcher to join our Product Research team. You will set a high bar when it comes to autonomously conducting research, whilst also being a keen champion of the discipline across your stakeholders.
At TravelPerk, Product Research underpins our design process end-to-end. You'll be working side-by-side with fellow Researchers, ReOps, DesignOps, Designers, Product Managers, Data Analysts, Content Designers, and Localization Specialists to shape the future of business travel. You’ll be comfortable designing and undertaking methodologically robust investigations, as well as disseminating actionable insights to help bring the voice of our customers to the core of our platform.

What you will do
- Gather impactful user insights and spread them efficiently across the organisation to improve our product and solve users' pains.
- Hold a key role in scaling and shaping the research function in the company.
- Champion the use of research to inform and drive product direction.
- Mentor and support fellow researchers, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
- Grow the value of research through thought leadership and relationship building.
- Work closely with Tribe Leads, Senior PMs, and Product Designers.
- Develop and innovate on our mixed-methods user research practice with a strong ability to analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Serve as a partner for our growing design practice centre, advising colleagues on methodologies and best practices in implementing their own evaluative research, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Train and support the design team on research tasks and deliverables.
- Define and facilitate inclusive design thinking workshops to foster cross-functional collaboration, action your research, and inform experiences that reflect a clearly defined problem.
Example responsibilities:
- Effectively lead multiple strategic research projects and contribute to shaping a compelling vision for the domain.
- Collate and disseminate various threads of insights into easy-to-digest and actionable recommendations.
- Train designers to be efficient researchers, validating their deliverables.
- Facilitate and run workshop sessions to address key issues within the product.
- Work with account managers and ReOps to contact and schedule research sessions with relevant profiles based on the needs of the product team.
- Set up scalable feedback loops where ideas can be quickly tested and validated, allowing rapid iterations before going to market.
- Get “out of the building” and find creative ways of getting our products and prototypes into the hands of business travellers.
Competencies/Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a user experience researcher on digital products.
- Expertise in conducting end-to-end user research studies; planning, recruitment, execution, analysis, and delivery.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, with additional languages being a plus.
- An ability to develop strong partnerships with PMs, Data Analysts, and Designers – to positively challenge assumptions, unpick ambiguous contexts and define problems to solve.
- Expertise in a wide variety of research methodologies and an ability to apply them to problems of different sizes and scopes.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate research findings in creative and impactful ways, using effective verbal and written communication styles to distill complex multi-method research reports into understandable, compelling, and actionable insights.
- Deep understanding of business requirements and how these relate to users’ needs.
- Guide product decisions through authoritative suggestions.
- Understand behavioural patterns across different devices and contexts and use these findings to improve our products.
Nice to haves
- SaaS experience.
- Proven experience as a UXR with a focus on mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of mobile app design principles and platform-specific guidelines (iOS, Android).
- Background in psychology, social sciences, and/or UX Design.

Our Vision is for a world where TravelPerk serves as the platform for human connection in-real-life (IRL). We take an IRL-first approach to work, where our team works together in-person 3 days a week. As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our Barcelona OR London hub.
