HoneyBook is the leading business and financial management platform for small business service providers and freelancers. By combining tools like billing, contracts and client communication, HoneyBook helps business owners get organized so they can provide top-tier service at every step. HoneyBook is trusted by service providers across the U.S. and Canada who have booked more than $5B in business on its platform. Every day at HoneyBook we are on a mission to empower the freelancer economy to rise together, doing what they love.

Our award-winning culture is built on core values that drive everything we do, including putting people first. We know experience comes in many different forms, some visible on your resume, others not. No one candidate will be a 100% perfect match to our description, so if you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged environment and have similar experience to what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.Did we mention we have 4.9 stars on Glassdoor?

Our Design department is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of brand design, product design, marketing design and user research. We work cross-functionally with just about every team—marketing, support, education, product, data and UX researchers in order to deliver a unified customer experience that feels like HoneyBook and helps them grow their business.

We are looking for Senior UX designers who care deeply about their customers and distill complex problems into thoughtful, simple, holistic experiences.

Our designers ‘show the future’. A big part of the role of a senior UX designer at HoneyBook is to be a visionary—visualizing and reinventing the future. This means that in your role you’ll have a high impact on the strategy and roadmap of your team.

Here are a few of the things you'll do...

  • Commit to understand our users more than anyone else in the company — emotionally, behaviorally, cognitively and their functional needs/pains
  • Start from the very early stages: find the right problem to solve, explore ideas for how to solve it and then refine it into a coherent solution. Our UX designers carry out research, brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping.
  • Design. Test. Launch. Iterate: Transform an idea into wireframes and flows to bring a feature into life. Rapidly test hypotheses to validate and refine your designs. “Live” alongside your feature and continuously improve it through feedback and data from web and mobile..
  • Work on a team with a product manager, engineers, product marketing, content strategy, and research to create holistic end-to-end experiences
  • Advocate for our diverse customer base with hard data and in-depth research to help meet their unique needs.
  • Contribute to our growing design system to cultivate a coherent look and feel

Interested? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Expert knowledge of the end to end iterative UX product design process, including how to develop and use personas, job stories, journey mapping, wireframing, interaction design, logic specifications, prototyping and user testing.
  • Deep experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working with cross-functional teams including UX writers, development, product management, and user research.
  • A champion of concept generation, validation and the user’s process optimization. Someone who knows how to explore multiple concepts simultaneously, quickly and still able to converge onto a solution. All this while being able to reason and stand behind their chosen solution.
  • Extensive experience working with Engineers on feasibility, detailed design and finding solutions to complex problems.
  • Looks for ways to craft simple solutions out of complex problems with awareness to the markets’ needs, and an eye for sharp visual design
  • A fearless leader and thoughtful communicator. Motivate a team to build amazing products by “selling” your concepts and getting them to rally behind your designs.
