We’re looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager – Data Platform to shape how data is ingested, stored, and accessed across SumUp. In this role, you'll combine technical depth with product vision to build high-impact platform capabilities that support teams company-wide.

This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll work closely with engineering, analytics, InfoSec, compliance, and internal data users to develop scalable workflows, evolve our Iceberg-based data lake, and enable self-service tools that unlock the full value of data at SumUp.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead discovery, prioritisation, and roadmap development for key Data Platform initiatives.
  • Work closely with engineering, analytics, security, and compliance to design and implement scalable ingestion and storage solutions.
  • Improve the resilience, reliability, and observability of the platform using data-driven insights and operational signals.
  • Improve platform performance and reliability using operational signals and insights from data.
  • Champion self-service tooling, automated schema handling, data lineage, and platform observability.
  • Monitor and define key success indicators such as adoption, data freshness, latency, reliability, cost efficiency, and error rates.

You’ll be great for this role if you:

  • Have a proven track record of delivering impactful products in complex technical environments, and you thrive on turning ambiguity into clarity and direction.
  • Bring hands-on experience in data, analytics or software engineering, allowing you to speak the language of engineers and build strong, collaborative partnerships.
  • Use metrics such as reliability, latency and data freshness to inform decisions and continuously improve platform performance.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, aligning teams around shared outcomes and influencing without authority.
  • Can balance multiple priorities effectively, delivering short-term value while driving long-term platform strategy forward.
