Overview
The Business Systems team at Instacart supports critical GTM and Customer Experience functions by delivering scalable, high‑value Salesforce capabilities. We are hiring a Salesforce Product Owner to work alongside Salesforce Admins, Developers, and Architecture team members - driving clarity of business needs and stewarding the overall roadmap.
This role will define the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. This role is accountable for what we build and why - ensuring the platform delivers measurable business value across Sales, Support, and Operations. You will serve as the strategic voice of the product, partnering closely with business and technology leaders to prioritize high-impact initiatives and guide long-term platform direction. This role focuses on what should be built and why, not on managing sprint ceremonies, project timelines, or engineering execution.
About the Job
- Own the Salesforce product vision and roadmap. Define and evolve the multi-quarter strategy for Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, growth, and customer experience. Align platform direction with broader organizational goals.
- Drive disciplined intake and discovery. Serve as the single threaded owner for Salesforce requests—shaping clear problem statements, leading discovery conversations, and translating business needs into outcome-based requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Lead stakeholder alignment and prioritization. Facilitate trade-off discussions across Sales, Support, Operations, and Finance. Clearly communicate prioritization logic and roadmap decisions, especially when balancing competing demands.
- Strengthen platform governance. Mature intake frameworks and quality standards for business justification and readiness. Ensure new features align with scalability, best-practice architecture, and long-term platform integrity.
- Validate business impact. Define success metrics upfront and partner with Operations and Analytics to evaluate adoption and performance post-launch. Close the loop by translating feedback into future roadmap improvements.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, or Business Systems leadership, including demonstrated ownership of multi-quarter product strategy and roadmap in complex, cross-functional environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience (Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud), with strong knowledge of platform capabilities, limitations, data models, automation patterns, and scalability considerations.
- Proven ability to define product vision and drive enterprise alignment, influencing senior stakeholders across Sales, Support, Operations, Finance, and Technology.
- Deep experience translating ambiguous business problems into clear, outcome-based requirements, structured intake processes, and well-defined acceptance criteria that enable engineering teams to execute effectively.
- Strong track record of working closely with Salesforce Admins, Developers, and Architects in Agile environments—focusing on product direction, value realization, and prioritization (not sprint management).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating at a portfolio or platform level, balancing multiple workstreams and long-term platform governance considerations.
- Background in Go-to-Market, Customer Support, Revenue Operations, or Business Systems within high-growth or enterprise organizations.
- Experience designing or maturing intake frameworks, prioritization models, and platform governance standards.
- Strong familiarity with Salesforce release cycles and a track record of proactively leveraging new platform features for business value.
- Product (CSPO, PSPO) and/or Salesforce certifications (ADM-201, ADM-211).
- Experience defining success metrics and partnering with Analytics or Operations teams to measure adoption, ROI, and long-term business impact.
