ALL SOURCEGRAPH ROLES ARE FULLY REMOTE

Who we are

Our mission at Sourcegraph is to make it so that everyone can code, not just ~0.1% of the population. We help developers and companies with billions of lines of code create the software you use every day. In enabling more people to code, we believe we will create economic opportunity across the world and will drive progress that benefits everyone.

It’s an exciting time to join Sourcegraph. Our company is growing rapidly: we’ve experienced exponential growth and our $125M Series D from Andreessen Horowitz and $50M Series C from Sequoia have given us the opportunity to make big ambitious bets on our future. We have a huge market (every company that builds software) and massive opportunity (most developers haven't even heard of code search yet, but once you've used it, you can't live without it--just like Google web search). By continuing to hire exceptional people, we have the opportunity to make Sourcegraph one of the biggest technology companies in the world.

Why this job is exciting

We’re looking for an experienced Product Marketing Manager to partner closely with product, marketing, sales, and customer engineering teams to drive the GTM strategy for two of Sourcegraph’s core products: Code Search and Batch Changes. As an early member of the product marketing team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a big impact managing feature and product launches and influencing the roadmap.

Within one month:

  • Meet with key stakeholders across product, marketing, CE, sales, engineering, and design
  • Start getting up to speed on the products you’ll be working on and become integrated into the product teams you’ll be working with
  • Set your Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) with your Manager and develop an action plan to achieve them

Within three months:

  • Have a trusting relationship with your PM counterpart and other internal stakeholders
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers, our products, use cases, competitors, and the market to help inform our product roadmap
  • Support sales and marketing efforts by creating high quality messaging, content, and sales collateral that is aligned to our products and use cases

Within six months:

  • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for new features, including buyer personas, messaging and positioning, use cases, pricing, and packaging
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, design, sales, and customer engineering teams, along with our partners, to effectively launch new features for your product areas
  • Continue to support sales and marketing efforts by creating high quality messaging, content, and sales collateral

Within one year:

  • You will have created and launched cross-functional marketing campaigns to drive product awareness and adoption
  • You will have become an expert on your products, Sourcegraph’s use cases, and our competitors
  • You will have led major launches for the products you support

About you

You are an experienced product marketer that loves launching products as much as you love nailing the foundations of messaging and positioning. You can effectively work with stakeholders from a variety of teams and know what it takes to keep a cross-functional group of teammates aligned throughout the entire GTM process. You are strongly aligned with our values, inspired by our mission to make it so that everyone can code, and motivated to do your best work at Sourcegraph.

Qualifications:

  • You have 3+ years of B2B product marketing experience, with 4-6 years of total relevant experience
  • You have led major feature launches and/or contributed to large product launches
  • You have empathy for developers, and the ability to effectively communicate and build trust with a technical audience
  • You are organized with excellent project management skills and can effectively collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
  • You have excellent writing, editing, and communication skills

Nice to haves:

  • Experience marketing to developers
  • Partner marketing experience
