Senior Product Manager - Security

In this role, you will: 

Lead Product for our Security team in our Platform organization. This team is responsible for the overall security experience of customers across Samsara’s entire platform, encompassing all of our product lines. This includes:

• Ensuring that our customers & their data are protected by strong baseline security, in partnership with our information security teams
• Identifying relevant security standards and certifications to meet (and exceed) customer expectations for the markets in which we operate
• Building out a best-in-class set of security features, giving our customers access to the right tools to safeguard their environments
• Driving the adoption of security features within our customer base to maximize the impact of these features in helping customers reduce risk
• Articulate our business & customer priorities related to Security, working with our information security and engineering teams to set measurable goals & define a roadmap to deliver on them
• Interface with customers to ensure that we reach the outcomes required for their ultimate success. Define product requirements for user-facing capabilities, and serve as the ‘voice of the customer’ in trade-off discussions & decision-making forums
• Launch new features and capabilities in collaboration with Design, Engineering and Marketing
• Develop a technical understanding of our platform’s systems and work with engineers and stakeholders to identify meaningful improvements
• Partner with our CISO and information security team to understand threats and contribute to cross-functional security initiatives
• Collaborate with product line PMs in a ‘platform PM’ capacity to ensure broad support for your team’s initiatives
• Contribute to enhance the practice of product management at Samsara to help drive hyper-growth at scale, in particular, advocating for security-by-design within our PM community. Also, serve as a mentor for early-career PMs
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

• 5-7+ years in a product management role, with experience operating in a technical product management domain
• Strong understanding of how to build for enterprise-scale.
• Experience working in a customer-focused environment and ability to establish trust & credibility with customers
• Knack for gleaning customer insights from quantitative and qualitative data
• Strong credibility with engineers and ability to understand technical systems
• A proven track-record of delivering outstanding results for customers & the business, managing significant complexity & shipping on tight timelines. You also have a bias-to-action and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty
• Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers, executives, and internal audiences, adjusting your communication style based on your audience

An ideal candidate also has:

• BS / MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience specifically leading a Security-focused team
• Familiarity with B2B SaaS and working with B2B Sales teams
