At Standard AI, we're transforming the way the world shops. By replacing cash registers with computer vision-powered checkout, we're creating a more enjoyable experience for shoppers. Since we started in 2017, Standard has developed partnerships with many global retailers. We are deploying our Standard Checkout solution across thousands of stores around the world. We're backed by some of Silicon Valley's leading investors including SoftBank, CRV, Initialized, EQT, Draper Associates and Y Combinator. We hit our series C in February 2021 when we became the world's first autonomous checkout unicorn.
The Vision Product Team at Standard AI transforms the latest machine learning into real-world applications. That machine learning and automation is at the heart of the autonomous checkout experience, and we want you to help make that experience as warm, inclusive, and wonderful as it can be.
To be successful you will have to find a balance between software development and short term optimization of the tool, making the humans in the loop more efficient, and the longer term goals of automating the process altogether. You will also create the product strategy and partner with a team of engineers, designers, marketers, and more to build the best experiences for shoppers.
This is a fully remote role. We're looking for someone with compassion who brings a lot empathy to their work. You'll report directly to the head of product, and enjoy rich and meaningful collaboration across the entire organization.
Responsibilities:
You will be defining the product vision for machine learning features and applications that help expand our autonomous checkout technology
You will work with ML engineers to conceptualize core perception algorithms such as pose extraction, tracking, action recognition, and other computer vision-based techniques
You will help design a self-learning machine that keeps getting more reliable and accurate over time
You will collaborate with every product line and ensure the most relevant business metrics are not only measured, but easily accessible to everyone in the company
You will also balance the optimization of the (HCI) tool with longer term automation goals and charter the path towards full automation
You have:
A history of shipping creative tech products with large user bases, and you have been involved in this end-to-end process
Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years of Product Management experience
5+ years of experience in one of the following areas, or related fields: Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles
Worked on partnerships with external companies to create best-in-class user experiences for their customers
