Malt’s Product organization is split into 4 cross-functional Product Tribes: Freelancer, Client, Staffing, and Transactions. Reporting into the Transaction tribe Product Director, your role will be to lead 2 “twin” squads (payment and billing), with the support of an associate product manager (coming from Malt’s graduate program).
Why is this scope essential?
Seamless payment experience, both on the customer and freelancer side, is one of the core value propositions of our product. Furthermore, our payment and billing stack is a key driver of our marketplace’s health and capacity to operate at scale, with a processed volume of several hundred million euros per year. 

Key responsibilities ✨

  • As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible, alongside your team, for the efficiency and scalability of the entire payment and billing system at Malt. 

  • More specifically, you will:
  • Thrive to make our seamless payment experience a differentiate asset for Malt’s customers and freelancers,
  • Support the company’s fast international expansion through the introduction of new and local payment methods,
  • Provide best-in-class tools to support our team in Finance operation managers’ scale,
  • Ensure that our freelancers are paid in time, hassle-free, wherever they are, whatever their legal status is.

  • This includes:
  • Product Strategy and Vision: Develop a clear and compelling product strategy and vision in close collaboration with the Product Director, senior stakeholders and your direct team. Continuously assess market trends, customer and internal team’s feedback, internal flows and processes to guarantee that your team has the most impact on Malt’s growth.
  • Roadmapping and prioritization: identify most promising opportunities through a thorough opportunity sizing and user research. Make sure your teams work on the biggest opportunities for the company at all times. 
  • Product discovery: collaborate with our User Research and Data team to understand the User pains and needs and refine your solutions alongside the Product design team. 
  • Go-to-market: identify strategies to derisk the roll-out of initiatives (A/B test, progressive roll-out, etc.). Collaborate with Product Marketing teams to ensure awareness and adoption of the features. 
  • Business impact: Owning and reporting all product related KPis related to the Finance stack performance and efficiency and drive insights out of them. Track the progress of your teams toward the squads OKR. 
  • Best practices: promote and establish best practices and processes in the product organization around insight and data-driven product development, user centricity, cross tribe and stakeholders alignment, etc.

About you 🧑‍🚀

  • Based in one of our offices (France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, United Kingdom or the Netherlands).
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in product centric companies. Ideally in a B2B, with a proven track record of managing finance-related topics in fast-growing environments. 
  • Experience working across international markets
  • A natural leader, you have a proven ability to inspire people around you
  • Business-minded, you know how to tie product investments to business outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Not afraid to make mistakes.
  • Competitive and driven to achieve goals, you are a “Doer”.
  • Fluent English, a second language (ideally French or German is a real plus)

  • Interview with Frederic, Product Director, to discuss your experience and the role in more detail (45-60 minutes)
  • Case study presentation to Product Director and senior stakeholders
  • Final interview with Belén (our Chief Product Officer) to discuss Malt’s long term vision
