An overview of the role

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to ensure an excellent purchase experience for GitLab customers, with a focus on purchases of our paid offerings via the GitLab web store.

As a Senior Product Manager in the Fulfillment Stage, you will be directly responsible for the direction of our Purchase category. You will set the roadmap for the GitLab web store to support pricing and packaging innovation at GitLab and ensure an efficient and effective go-to-market approach for GitLab paid offerings. Experience running large initiatives and strong stakeholder management skills will come in handy given the large cross-functional impact that these initiatives will have across all quote-to-cash systems and teams

We encourage you to apply even if you don't have an established background in this role yet, but feel that this page describes what you have a strong attitude for. Product managers always start off somewhere, and it's ok if that somewhere is GitLab.

We recommend looking at our company page, the product handbook, our product categories, and the Fulfillment Direction pages.

What you’ll do

  • Drive the product group in the right direction by building an effective roadmap
  • Prioritize initiatives by considering revenue impact potential, operational efficiency, impact to growth initiatives, and more.
  • Turn customer problems into solutions and break them into small iterations that engineering can work on.
  • Balance new features, improvements, and bug fixes to ensure a high velocity and a stable product.
  • Innovate within your product area by proposing ambitious features.
  • Follow feature development end-to-end; provide guidance and feedback to engineers and designers; ensure everyone is aligned
  • Assist Sales, Support, Customer Success, and Marketing as the subject-matter expert for your area
  • Talk to customers and engage with the community regularly
  • Work with the entire Product team to share improvements and best practices

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in product management, especially in enterprise / B2B environments.
  • Previous experience managing system level integrations (bonus points for billing & licensing systems).
  • Interest in partnering across Growth, Sales, Finance, and Marketing to identify opportunities to drive best-in-class e-commerce experiences at GitLab.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and excited to lead large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Passion for design and usability.
  • Highly independent and pragmatic.
  • Trust and empower your development group to deliver great products
  • You make thoughtful decisions motivated by data and research
  • You are living wherever you want and are excited about the all remote lifestyle
  • You share our values, and work in accordance with those values
  • Bonus points: experience with GitLab
  • Bonus points: experience in working with open source projects

About the team

We work in quite a unique way at GitLab, with flexibility and independence mixed with a high-paced, pragmatic way of working. Everything that we can, we do in the open.

This means having strong cross-functional partnerships with Finance, Support, Marketing, Sales & Field Enablement and Customer Success to innovate in the enterprise sales and subscription management space. We align across the business with quarterly OKRs, but build and ship improvements as continuously as we can following agile practices and strongly indexing on our iteration value.

How GitLab will support you

Please note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. Additionally, studies have shown that people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to a job unless they meet every single qualification. If you're excited about this role, please apply and allow our recruiters to assess your application.
