Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, which allows businesses that depend on physical operations to harness IoT (Internet of Things) data to develop actionable business insights and improve their operations. Founded in San Francisco in 2015, we now employ more than 1,800 people globally and have over 1.5 million active devices. Samsara also went public in December 2021 and we’re just getting started.

Recent awards we’ve won include:

  • #2 in the Financial Times’ Fastest Growing Companies in Americas list 2021
  • Named as a Best Place to Work in Built In 2022
  • #19 in the Forbes Cloud 100 2021
  • IoT Analytics Company of the Year in 2022’s IoT Breakthrough Winners
  • Forbes Advisor named us the Best Solution for Large Companies - Fleet management software for 2022!

We're driving change in industries that are yet to fully embrace digital transformation. Physical operations make up a massive slice of the global economy but haven’t benefited from innovation and actionable information in the way that other sectors have. The potential for scale and impact is huge.

About the role:

Samsara’s Product team works to bring our disruptive IoT technology to market, accelerating the adoption of sensor data to improve industrial efficiency at a massive scale. As a member of the Product team, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end success of new products and features that delight our customers and further Samsara’s vision. Samsara’s approach to product management is rooted in a deep understanding of the customer. You’ll learn about our customers’ operations, identify the most meaningful problems that we could solve for them, and develop a product vision that maximizes the impact Samsara can make on the market.

ELD Compliance is Samsara’s primary regulatory offering and one of our biggest revenue-driving products for the company. We’re looking for an experienced product manager that has familiarity with balancing regulatory requirements with customer needs. Our goal is to make ELD compliance as easy as possible for our customers and build relationships with regulatory bodies to influence regulatory updates and advocate for our customers best interests.

In this role, you’ll work to build and execute on a roadmap of customer-focused compliance features, partner with our in-house Regulatory & Policy legal counsel to drive regulatory change, and be responsible for new additions to the compliance portfolio that can increase revenue and adoption.

In this role, you will:

  • Define product capabilities to make compliance as easy as possible for administrators and drivers.
  • Interface with customers to shape solutions and ensure their ultimate success.
  • Represent the voice of the customer when collaborating with engineering on designing new compliance capabilities.
  • Partner with our Regulatory & Policy legal counsel to develop strong regulatory relationships, and represent Samsara’s interests in regulatory forums.
  • Ensure that Samsara is remaining compliant with the changing regulatory landscape.
  • Mentor and have opportunities to formally lead early-career PMs.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

An ideal candidate has:

  • 4-7+ years in a product management role, preferably in a regulatory environment (e.g. Finance, Healthcare, ELD Compliance).
  • BS / MS degree in Computer Science or related fields preferred.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment and leading customer calls.
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excitement to dive deep into regulations and act as a Compliance expert across the company.
  • Ability to establish credibility with engineers and gain a deep understanding of highly complex technical systems.
  • Bias-to-action and hands-on experience delivering business results. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers, executives, internal audiences, regulatory bodies, etc.
  • Ability to drive teams of diverse backgrounds to ship features on aggressive timelines.
