At Mercury, we believe that debit and credit cards should be powerful, intelligent tools that give our customers flexibility and unprecedented control over their spending. The Cards team at Mercury is obsessively focused on building experiences that are both simple and remarkably powerful.

This is a product role that requires deep empathy for our customers’ needs as they pertain to using and spending on their cards. You will collaborate across teams to shape the future of Mercury's card offerings, creating experiences that make complex financial operations feel effortless. Your data acuity and customer insights will drive the card experiences roadmap.

Secure, intuitive, and perhaps a bit magical - that's how users should describe their Mercury card experience. Your focus will be making every interaction so intuitive that users feel like they've finally found a partner that truly understands their needs.

*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., and Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.

As part of the journey, we would expect you to:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of Mercury's core card experiences (e.g. card issuance, shipping, management), from strategic vision to execution, ensuring our product serves as a key market differentiator through thoughtful design and powerful features
  • Identify and prioritize card experience improvements using a range of qualitative and quantitative inputs, making strategic tradeoffs in a highly ambiguous environment
  • Build strong partnerships across Mercury, aligning stakeholders around a shared vision for next-generation card experiences while fostering joint ownership of strategy and outcomes
  • Drive card product strategy through deep understanding of user behavior, spending patterns, and partnership opportunities
  • Clearly communicate product specifications for card features and improvements, bridging the gap between technical requirements and user experience needs
  • Set and maintain high standards for card experiences, fostering a culture of excellence and customer-centricity across the team

Some things that might make you successful in a role like this:

  • 5+ years of relevant product management experience, including 3+ years of experience within card products, ideally in a fintech setting
  • Strong UX sensibility with a track record of creating intuitive, lovable products
  • Experience conducting user research and translating insights into product improvements
  • Proficiency in using data analytics to inform UX decisions and measure the impact of product changes
  • Ability to balance deep technical understanding of product and partner requirements with a relentless focus on user experience
  • Be able to take complex problems and distill them into first principles, always keeping the end-user in mind
  • Track record of launching card products, including experience with network and banking partners

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry.
