Senior Product Manager: Avatar Emotion and Live Animation

As Senior Product Manager, Avatar – Avatar Emotion and Live Animation, you will lead the product strategy and deployment of avatar technologies that power self-expression, live facial animation and virtual communication for all Roblox developers and players. From the defined strategy you will distill product specifications and requirements and work with a team of world class engineers, designers, artists, and the developer community to deliver them to players of all ages. 

Our team, composed of industry experts from ILM, DreamWorks, Adobe and Google, are working on challenging engineering problems at the boundary of real time computer graphics and deep learning. The products we envision will allow Roblox players to watch their favorite music artist singing with facial expressions in real-time during a virtual concert or interacting with friends through social chat in a life-like, interactive way. 

You Are:

• Product leader with BS or MS in CS or similar with 5+ years in Product Management
• Expert in productizing advanced graphics technologies. You have shipped at least one, if not more complex graphics technologies. Ideally you have experience working with game, video, AR/VR, social or avatar systems
• Casual gamer who enjoys 3D character experiences and is able to break down the pieces that make the world come alive
• Experienced shipping and managing a product with millions of users and sensitive to stability, distribution, and update flows
• Usability Focused: Capable of conveying your ideas through detailed Specs and/or Wireframes
• Dynamic Experience working in a fast paced environment, with competing resources and priorities, through planning, development, and launch
• Strategic orientation coupled with an entrepreneurial attitude along and an ability to contribute to product design, execution, and all things go-to-market
• A self starter: High degree of self direction and independent drive

You Will:

• Define the future of virtual identity, self-expression and visual communication for hundreds of millions of Roblox players 
• Drive efforts in building the Avatar ecosystem across the entire Roblox platform 
• Engage our developers directly and balance that feedback with an understanding of what is possible today and might be possible in the future to identify new capabilities and define product features
• Lead a cross-functional team of passionate people to build out features and bring them live to the platform
• Understand new trends and cutting edge technologies so you can ensure that we have the best tools in the world to power our creation platform
• Balance and Prioritize new features with existing backlog initiatives and align them with product strategy
• Communicate the needs and product concepts to stakeholders, engineers, designers, and other product team members
• Be incredibly truth-seeking and collect all data necessary to inform product direction, whether in the form of competitive intel, customer behavior, or other business metrics

Basic Qualifications:

• BS or MS in CS or similar with 5+ years in Product Management
• You have shipped at least one, if not more complex graphics technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Product experience with a developer focus or on a development platform
• Ideally you have experience working with game, video, AR/VR, social or avatar systems
