Sales Engineering is looking for a passionate Senior Product Manager that understands how to use data to drive business goals. This person will be responsible for collaborating with various data-producing teams and partners to define and drive the strategic direction and roadmap for data and machine learning related to advertising sales growth and insights.In Sales Engineering, we are data advocates and seek to provide highly trusted and readily available datasets for consumption by our business partners. In pursuit of this mission, we look at data that is generated and managed by different product areas and business units, requiring partnership and knowledge of different teams and processes. - Collaborate with business users and partners to gather requirements for data needs
- Craft and evolve a product vision, strategy, roadmap, and metrics that helps serve the data needs for our Product Area and business partners.
- Work closely with Product and Data Science Leads in our department to identify and address gaps in our Data & ML offerings with the goal of providing high quality and readily available data.
- Act as a product lead for cross-functional ads data initiatives, engaging members of different product areas and departments.
- Centralize the collection of key metrics and change requests from various teams and users
- Partner with our engineering and analytics teams to improve the end-user dashboard engagement and experience
- Coordinate key decision meetings to identify solutions of data and metric incidents, and see-through implementation and resolution processes.
- Be the bridge between the Sales Engineering team and the larger Ads Data community
- Lead the growing internal user data collection effort to help improve the end-user experience
- Work passionately to ensure the teams are focusing on the right things, balancing short versus long term needs. A healthy balance of innovation, support, and maintenance is key for all successful teams at Spotify.
Who you are
- You have a long experience with data-driven product development and a technical background, either as an engineer or data scientist/analyst or a product manager being responsible for a data platform/product.
- You can understand business goals and use cases, form a perspective on how data can contribute to those goals, and translate those to prioritized work.
- Knowledge of internal business processes, especially related to Sales and Salesforce or Tableau CRM is a major benefit
- Strong data analytics background and you are comfortable manipulating data with business intelligence tools like Tableau or similar, and writing queries using SQL.
- Ability to champion data literacy within an organization and get on board for data initiatives.
- You are a teammate with a proven track record to work cross-functionally, passionate about improving the user experience.
- You are an excellent communicator and storyteller, communicating concepts and ideas in different formats.
- You have an ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with only high-level direction.
- Bonus: Understanding of technical architecture, data modeling and schema design.
