We’re a highly skilled team of product people who are building an awesome product and moving fast. We value people who take initiative, lead by example, and empower everyone at Klue to participate in delivering greatness.
We are looking for a Senior Product Managerto join our team and take on a new 0-1 initiative!
💡Klue + You?
Q: What level of experience are we looking for?
A: This is a senior IC role. We’re looking for someone with strong product chops, who's learned lessons the hard way in the trenches. Someone entrepreneurial, who loves to dive in and get their hands dirty. And, like a dog with a bone, will ceaselessly chase success for their product. When evaluating level we look at scope, complexity, communication, decision-making, and product intuition.
Q: What makes this role exciting?
This role is a bit of a unicorn. We have a budget, but no team. We want to move fast towards validating an approach to market, but not get hung up on building and shipping features. Want to hire some Upworkers? Outsource some prototype work? Dig in and mock things yourself. Go to town, as long as you get results.
Q: What does Product Management look like at Klue?
A: You own your area of responsibility. Your destiny is in your own hands, within the context of our vision and corporate goals, of course. PMs are responsible for identifying, de-risking, and prioritizing outcomes for the engineering team to tackle, as well as ensuring they are successfully met. You'll have access to customers, prospects, and random people on the street... and will be expected to deeply understand them.
Q: What skills do you bring?
- Demonstrated experience driving business outcomes
- A love of complex customer problems, deep empathy, and discovery skills for days
- High EQ. You’re a connector, able to motivate people around a common goal, and facilitate thoughtful and constructive conversations between disparate groups
- Strong product thinking skills and a strategic mindset
- Curious about people, problems, and opportunities
- You're constantly evolving your product chops and subscribe to the newer wave of product thinking (Melissa Perri, Teresa Torres, Marty Cagan, etc.)
- You're a driver, always focused on the end goal and leaping over it with your team
Q: What you'll be doing:
- We’ve identified a market opportunity, but aren’t sure how to approach it. That’s where you come in. You’d need to look at the opportunity from all angles to find one or many paths forward.
- Talking to people, qual and quant research, understand potential users deeply and map potential opportunities or risks.
- Finding ways to experiment and quickly validate ideas with the market.
- Building the business case for your chosen path forward to secure development funding.
- Prioritizing product scope to get into market as quickly as possible.
- Working closely with the Design and Engineering teams to ship high-quality solutions that drive business outcomes and customer value.
- Setting and maintaining a high bar of quality for your team's deliverables.
Q. What motivates our team right now:
- Challenging, stimulating and meaningful work
- Inspiration from skilled and proven leaders
- Having their entrepreneurial fingerprints on an innovative, category-defining, company
- Culture, team, and work environment
- A high degree of autonomy and accountability
- Radical transparency and high-quality communication
- Huge opportunity for growth
Q: How do teams work?
- Hybrid. Best of both worlds (remote & in-office)
- Our main Canadian hubs are in Vancouver and Toronto, and most of our teams are located in EST and PST.
- You and your team will be in office at least 2 days per week.
Q: What about total compensation & benefits?
- Benefits. We currently have extended health benefits starting on your 1st day.
- Time off. Take what you need. We want the team to prioritize wellness and avoid burnout. Vacation usually falls into 3 categories: recharging, life-event, & keeping a work-life balance. Just ensure the required work gets done and clear it with your team in advance. You need to take at least two weeks off every year. The average Klue team member takes 2-4 weeks of PTO per year.
