Submittable is looking for experienced Senior Product Designers to join our team in Seattle, WA or Missoula, MT. As a Senior Product Designer for Submittable, you will be designing products that enable corporations and foundations to deliver good at scale, helping millions of people in need of aid.
You will be part of a team consisting of a product manager, product designer, lead engineer, and staff engineers and will contribute to building products that are powerful yet intuitive with a focus on getting the user to ‘wow’ as quickly as possible.
This is a full time position and reports to the Director of Product.
Your responsibilities include:
- Work with a cross-functional team to envision, design, and deliver impactful product experiences with minimal oversight
- Expertly select human-centered design methods to drive initiatives forward, knowing which methods are most appropriate and effective in different scenarios
- Conduct a variety of research activities (i.e. user interviews, customer surveys, usability tests) to identify product opportunities, aid feature prioritization, and validate the effectiveness of design concepts
- Facilitate workshops or design sprints to address complex opportunities that require divergent thinking
- Create artifacts such as user flows, storyboards, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes that promote thorough understanding of the solution and the ‘why?’ behind it
- Contribute to Submittable’s emerging design system in partnership with other designers
- Give and receive design critique to encourage high-quality work and continuously improve the team’s design practice at Submittable
- Advocate for and design inclusive, accessible experiences for all users
- Influence high-level strategic decisions and product roadmap with both the product and executive teams
An ideal candidate will have these qualities:
- 4+ years experience as a Product Designer
- Experience with SaaS and associated business models
- Strong command of design software (e.g. Figma)
- Fluency in visual and interaction design fundamentals: color, typography, hierarchy, iconography, spacing, and motion
- Lead conversations about design decisions with individuals outside of the product organization
- Ability to perform design techniques including storyboarding, information architecture, interaction models, user research, and prototyping
- Proven experience shipping customer-facing products that provide measurable business value
Experience working in an agile design and development environment
- Propensity to design and iterate efficiently to keep our innovation pipeline moving
- Understanding of web accessibility standards
