With research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing all collaborating in one organization, we’re able to quickly create meaningful features and services for millions of people around the world, resulting in joyful, long-lasting relationships with Spotify.
We are looking for a creative, passionate, and experienced Senior Product Designer to join the Freemium business unit – Spotify’s division that oversees the entire user journey and ensures we engage with people in innovative ways, every step of the way.
With a focus on innovation projects, you will be part of a small, agile, and constantly evolving team, designing B2B tools for the music industry to meet our ambitious commercial and user experience goals.
In this role, you will work as part cross-functional team that includes Engineering, Product Insights, and Program Management. You will also collaborate with our industry relations teams, consultants, and other experts in the field. From prototyping to development you’ll be responsible for the end to end experience of a new exciting B2B music product.
What You'll do
- Work across multi-disciplinary teams, partnering closely with product, product insights and engineering, to find sophisticated and practical solutions to B2B tooling challenges for the music industry.
- Build tailored artifacts such as presentations, visual maps, service maps, sophisticated journey maps, service blueprints, etc. to drive relevant paths forward.
- Lead co-creation workshops as part of the analysis and design of new experiences or processes for internal teams.
- Work with peers across Insights, Research, Engineering, and Product to turn workflow brainstorms and business needs into user journey diagrams and service blueprints.
- Take into account existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, and specific platform demands to produce data-informed solutions.
- Be autonomous by taking full ownership of your work. You’ll be responsible for every detail, every step of the way, from whiteboard sketching to high-fidelity build specification.
- Rapidly produce multiple concepts and workflows, understanding when deeper exploration is warranted and when it is best to change paths and try another approach.
Who You Are
- You have at least 5+ years of experience in a similar role at Spotify and/or B2B focused product companies; experience designing for multiple platforms is a huge plus.
- An incredible designer with outstanding design chops. You’ve shipped many B2B products/features over the years and are equally skilled at interaction and visual design; bonus skills include motion design and prototyping skills.
- The skills for translating and documenting design ideas into visuals that can be shared with all parts of the business.
- You possess a strong understanding of usability and user experience principles.
- Communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts. Also instrumental is the ability to speak confidently to your own design work and convince others of your reasoning.
- A people-focused design mentality and want to build services, systems, products, and features that have meaningful impact.
- You love thinking big, and at the same time, you know when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail.
- You're hungry to learn and evolve in all things. From design craft to process to industry and market trends — you never stop pushing towards the next big challenge.
