We are seeking a Senior Product Designer II to join the Financial Monitoring & Discovery Discovery team, a mission-driven group dedicated to making financial progress possible for everyone by accelerating product growth and engagement. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for strategically designing high-impact experiences focused on member activation, retention, and business growth across our ecosystem of financial products and services.
As a Senior-level designer, you will be a leader on the team, setting a high bar for craft, and driving design strategy within the growth domain. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, research, analytics, and data science partners to create intuitive, impactful, and scalable experiences that empower people to make confident financial decisions. You should be a maker, not afraid to take on complex challenges that lead to paradigm-shifting ideas, and thrive in ambiguity as a creative systems thinker. What You’ll Do:
- Role & Core Responsibility
- Lead design initiatives from discovery through delivery, focusing on key member journeys that directly impact business growth metrics and product adoption.
- Drive design strategy for critical conversion and engagement moments, applying a strong growth-mindset to identify and execute on high-leverage opportunities.
- Partner with product managers to define the strategy and execute on design solutions for onboarding and re-onboarding flows to optimize member activation and long-term engagement.
- Shape the user experience for the cross-channel notifications opt-in strategy, ensuring a design that balances compliance, optimal member experience, and maximum business impact.
- Design and iterate on the native app upsell experience, identifying and designing key moments to seamlessly drive product adoption and conversion across our product.
- Translate complex financial concepts into simple, accessible, and engaging experiences that move the needle on core business KPIs.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance member-centricity, business goals, and technical feasibility.
- Be a deeply member-centric designer who uses both qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions, test hypotheses, and continuously refine solutions for maximum growth.
- Run your own research and partner with analytics to directly impact the product roadmap and design outcomes.
- Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize among user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web & mobile platforms.
- Utilize and implement GenAI-powered tools and platforms to drive velocity, improve process efficiency, and explore design concepts faster within the product design workflow.
- Strategic and Foundational Leadership
- Drive and deliver design strategies, frameworks, principles, and designs on a broad range of projects to accelerate large initiatives and align stakeholders across different teams and business units.
- Bring a bold vision and design strategy to life across multiple areas in the ecosystem, connecting the dots across multiple strategies and initiatives to make the largest impact.
- Serve as a lighthouse example for understanding, identifying, and executing high-impact growth design work, setting a gold standard for design practices across the Product organization.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with product management and engineering to define strategy, identify opportunities, and deliver experiences that drive measurable impact.
- Operate with autonomy and drive design in partnership with many stakeholders across design, development, product management, data/analytics, and research.
- Influence product direction by visualizing ideas and concepts for internal leaders, partners, and customers, advocating for design excellence and accessibility.
What We’re Looking For:
Design Experience & Expertise:
- 6+ years of UX/UI/Product design experience, with significant experience in mobile app design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design and the ability to tackle ambiguous problems.
- Exceptional visual, interaction, and systems design skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Deep understanding of human-centered design, accessibility, and usability principles.
- Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research.
- Deep knowledge of user experience methods, innovation, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem-framing skills and design principles.
- Experience or strong interest in leveraging generative AI tools to accelerate design workflows, from discovery to high-fidelity mockups.
- Familiarity with mobile design guidelines and best practices (e.g., Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design).

- Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams/groups/functions through facilitative leadership to deliver great results and to "raise the bar" continually as an effective leader of positive change.

Pay Transparency Notice:
Credit Karma’s mission of championing financial progress for all starts from within. That’s why we implemented role-based compensation, which ensures people who are in the same role receive the same pay with variations for geographic location only. It’s all part of a more comprehensive DEI strategy that helps level the playing field. The base salary range for this role is $198,000 - $221,000, plus equity and benefits.
