The Company You’ll Join

At Carta we create owners and make private markets liquid.

We live in a world where some people live on the equity stack and enjoy exponential wealth growth and preferential tax treatment; others live on the debt stack and may work their entire lives for a company and retire only with the cash they’ve managed to save from their paychecks. Our contribution to solving the wealth inequality problem is moving people from the debt stack (payroll) to the equity stack. By making it as easy to issue equity to employees as it is to put them on payroll, we can create more owners.

At Carta, we are helpful, transparent, fair, and kind. We are relentless executors, unconventional thinkers, and masters of our craft.

The Team You’ll Work With

The Fundraise team is a collaborative and passionate group of professionals that include product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners. We’re united by a common mission to empower founders to raise capital confidently and efficiently. Our initiatives require collaborative teamwork and tenacity to drive market-wide behavioral change. We measure success not by features shipped or lines of code written, but rather by the impact we drive for the business.

Some of our favorite moments are watching our founders use the products that we build. We solve problems by deeply understanding their domain and their workflows. We serve the business, first and foremost, and invest in ourselves and each other in service of that effort. We are owners and that is the only title that matters.

The Problems You’ll Solve

As a designer of this team, you will be building leading-edge products. You will work closely with other designers, engineers, and product managers to create novel, actionable ways for founders to visualize and make decisions about raising money for their companies.

As a Product Designer working with the Fundraise team, you will:

  • Leverage user research, rapid prototyping, and data insights to identify ways to improve the Fundraise team’s products and user experiences.
  • Deeply understand the fundraising space from both founders’ and investors’ perspectives; be passionate about early-stage companies and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate across multiple businesses and cross-functional stakeholders. The Fundraise team works with teams that work closely with investors and lawyers.
  • Leverage our design system (Ink) to bring your designs to life alongside our front end engineers. Inspire, influence, and contribute back to our design system.
  • Synthesize complex fundraising concepts into easy-to-use solutions for a broad audience including founders, investors, fund administrators, and company administrators.
  • Participate in weekly design workshops and design-led projects.
  • Design to consistently scale and leverage shareable components for web.

About You

We are looking for a strong designer to envision the future of fundraising products for early-stage private companies. Someone who is highly collaborative in driving strategy, ideation, prioritization, problem solving, and product delivery. If you are passionate about building intuitive solutions to complex problems that drive direct value to users, we would love to talk with you. In addition, we’re prioritizing:

  • Experience designing for desktop
  • An online portfolio of case studies that demonstrates unfailing advocacy for the user, highlighting: enterprise design work, desktop design work, analytical decision-making, and strategic thinking
  • Understanding of how to prototype at the appropriate degrees of fidelity to solicit clear customer feedback
  • Experience designing for measurable outcomes; conducting user research, working with cross-functional teams to identify and implement research strategies, and using findings to inform needs and to measure success
  • Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment
We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate.
