About Enode

Do you want to join a fast-growing climate tech startup with real impact?

At Enode, our mission is to accelerate the energy transition 🌍️

A fully renewable energy system is dependent on flexible demand that can adapt to the intermittent supply from wind and solar. To create this flexibility, we need to connect to and control the fast-growing demand coming from electric vehicles, heat pumps and other energy hardware.

This is what we’re doing at Enode. Our APIs power the next generation of green energy apps, reaching more than 60 million consumers worldwide.

We are backed by some of the best climate tech investors in the world, including Y Combinator, Lowercarbon Capital and Creandum. We already have a global presence with customers in 11 countries across Europe, US and APAC.

Yet, we’re still at the start of our journey, and we want exceptional people to join us!

About the role

The Experience team is responsible for the face of the product and brand. Our mission is to improve the customer and end-user experience on all user-facing Enode surfaces. We build products for end-users, such as Link UI, and for customers, such as Enode Developers. The team also supports other product teams in building user experiences, and develops the Enode design system and component library.

As a Senior Product Designer in the Experience team, you will take on a variety of product design-related responsibilities.

  • 🔍 Develop a deep understanding of our end-users and customers through learning from data, performing research and conducting interviews to establish clear user problems.

  • 🎨 Design beautiful and intuitive interfaces, features and flows for anything from entirely new products or surfaces to improving current ones, from initial sketches all the way through the implementation phase.

  • ♻️ Take ownership of design changes and new launches, continuously learning from and measuring their impact, and conduct further experiments to continue improving on them.

  • 🌀 Work with other teams to help find efficient solutions to problems, collaborating and communicating effectively with stakeholders and presenting clear rationales for design decisions.

As the second designer at Enode, you will also play an important role in shaping the overall Enode brand, keeping our voice consistent across all surfaces, and building out scalable design solutions for a growing company with changing needs. While this aspect of the role might change as the design and creative teams grow, you will initially take on responsibilities to help build out the larger function of design at Enode.

  • 🖌️ Work with our Head of Design and marketing team to evolve the Enode brand and marketing material, including new iterations of our website.

  • 👋 Help shape briefs and coordinate external contributors on an ongoing basis to support this work.

About you

Every person at Enode cares deeply about our mission of helping the world transition to renewable energy sources. Fundamentally, you are eager to push towards positive climate change with your toolbox as a designer and have a deep understanding of the role of design in a growing startup. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who is…

  • Experienced — You have 5+ years of experience from digital product teams on your resumé, successfully taking a multitude of projects from the research and problem stage through shipped solutions and beyond. When faced with a problem to solve, you can pull on your experience to confidently construct a process to arrive at a solution, and you know what it takes to launch it, learn from it, and iterate on it.

  • Visually detail-oriented — You care deeply about making visually beautiful and delightful user experiences. You nerd out about the craft just about as much as you do about solving important user problems and feel excited about polishing the final details of an interface before it goes out to customers and end-users.

  • Independent — While the Experience team works closely together on a daily basis, each team member has a high degree of autonomy in individual projects. You are comfortable taking on responsibility for initiatives on your own, seeing them through from A to Z. You clearly communicate progress, problems and plans throughout the process and pull in collaborators and stakeholders as you see fit.

  • Bonus: Confident with code — The Experience team ultimately aims to distill complex problems and journeys into easy-to-use, intuitive interfaces and flows. Understanding the technical aspects of how our products are built is crucial to succeed in this role. While it is not a requirement, everyone on the Experience team writes code daily, and you are expected to know your way around modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

What we offer

  • A stimulating, fun and caring work environment with high drive and ambition

  • Opportunity to join an early-stage climate tech startup with global aspirations

  • Competitive compensation, including a very attractive employee option program

  • A remote-first setup where you can work anywhere you want in the world. We also have an office in Oslo if you want to work from there

  • Stipend for setting up your home office / co-working space

  • Regular offsites with the team in various exciting locations (we went to Italy 🇮🇹 earlier this year).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
