We are seeking an experienced product designer with deep expertise in Figma and a track record for visual design and systems thinking to help evolve our product design system, notably our components library. In this role, you’ll work closely with members of the product design team to gather requirements, create foundational patterns, and build out flexible and extensible components. You’ll champion design systems thinking and collaborate with design technologists and front-end engineers to deliver experiences that are inclusive, intuitive, and true to our brand. If you nerd out on color contrast ratios, tab order, and documentation, you’ve found your people!
This role is open to remote work outside of the San Francisco Bay Area.
How You’ll Contribute:
- Expand our design system, from building out our Figma components library to collaborating with engineering around design tokens and implementation to creating documentation guidelines
- Ensure our components are inclusive, with attention to localization and WCAG 2.0 AA compliance
- Work with user researchers to ensure our components are intuitive and affirming
- Solicit, synthesize, and incorporate feedback from brand, design, and engineering partners
- Develop alignment, guidance, and documentation around naming and usage
- Provide regular status updates
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- 5+ years working as a product designer alongside software engineers to solve complex user problems at scale
- Expertise developing robust, usable, and sustainable Figma component libraries
- Familiarity with Figma plug-ins and integrations, particularly those related to accessibility and translation
- Experience mapping Figma components libraries to React components used by software engineers
- Knowledge of best practices for developing responsive web components, with inclusivity, accessibility, and internationalization in mind
- Systems thinking with a cohesive strategy toward implementing and maintaining design tokens, guidelines and principles, and component libraries
- Collaborative approach and proactive communication to ensure alignment and transparency
- A track record leading projects to successful outcomes
- A portfolio demonstrating your ability to develop a well-considered and robust Figma components library
