Meeting your future team:
Join Collibra’s Design System Team:
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll be joining a growing product organization working on Arbor, the Collibra Design System. You will help the team ensure that Arbor is fit for purpose and delivering value to the company. Working closely with product designers, UX writers, tech writers, and software engineers, you will build upon our component library to create guidelines and processes that ensure we are designing and building consistent experiences across all of our products.
The design system team aims to help our internal teams and our customers in many ways like:
- Designing a cohesive, consistent, intuitive user experience
- Defining design kits and best practice guidelines so that product designers can spend more time designing the best user journey and less time executing visual design and interactions
- Developing and maintaining a front-end architecture that increases product development efficiency through quality code, accessibility enablement, and responsiveness
Reporting to the design system team’s senior manager, you will help educate and collaborate with the product and engineering organization in helping them adopt and utilize Arbor. A successful implementation of Collibra’s design system means that we can:
- Increase customer happiness through faster innovation and faster time to value
- Enable an accessible, responsive experience for users
- Provide ready-to-use design assets for designers
As a Senior Product Designer on the design system team you are responsible for:
- Helping execute the design system’s vision, strategy, and roadmap in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals
- Identifying opportunities for new design system operations, features, and tooling to help the team become more efficient and have greater impact
- Continuing the growth and adoption of the design system as it expands in scope and matures
- Ensuring our design system meets—and exceeds—accessibility requirements by working with product teams to ensure inclusive design and evaluating accessibility audits
- Driving alignment with cross-discipline partners (e.g., product managers, UX designers engineers, research, UX writing, program managers) and stakeholders to help shape the definitions and strategies of the design system
- Articulating and validating decisions through collaboration, research and testing, always ensuring the design system provides value to our users
You Have:
- 4+ years of experience as a product designer or similar role within a SaaS organization designing for web and/or mobile applications
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries in Sketch or Figma (we use Figma at Collibra)
- A proven history of working within a user-centered design process with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers
- Experience balancing user needs, company strategy, and technical constraints when making decisions
- Experience partnering with technology teams and supporting technology products through an agile environment
- The ability to collaborate, inform, and compromise with stakeholders at all levels of the company
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience is required
You Are:
- Analytical, communicative, collaborative, and are a creative problem solver
- Passionate about modular design, systems, accessibility, and technology
- Humble and able to freely discuss your own strengths and weaknesses (and those of others), but always in a kind, professional, and appropriate way
- Outcome oriented with a focus on the big picture of improving the system each time you respond to a problem, rather than just resolving the specific issue
- Experienced working within brand guidelines to create experiences that reinforce a brand’s style or voice through its visual touch-points
- Able to lead, direct, mentor, coach, and educate about design with a wide range of colleagues
- Understand the value of collaboration with fellow designers and engineers, but also take ownership and work independently under your own initiative
- Able to speak fluent U.S. or British English
