The Clubs team is seeking a product designer to join us. This person will be responsible for thinking through, designing, and enhancing current and future experiences that bring running, cycling, and other event types alive on the Strava platform to enhance the athlete experience. The team is nested within the broader Athlete Experience pillar of the company structure, and in 2022 will be focused on helping organizers create real life and virtual events that connect and motivate athletes. Within this focus there will be opportunities to think about how our creator tools enable our customers to make great experiences on and off Strava.
In this position, the product designer will be responsible for helping shape the design and overall strategy of the Clubs Team. We are interested in speaking with you if you’re dedicated to building great customer experiences, are a driven and creative problem solver who loves to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners. You should thrive in an environment where you get to work on complicated problems that require a keen ability to investigate, organize, and design user experiences that lead partners to unlock the next generation of storytellers and creators across sport and connected fitness, to build and launch features in our clubs product.
Help connect athletes with club events they love as well as relevant to the type of fitness and activities they’re interested in
Work with partners and creators to advance Strava’s presence in the clubs space, where we aim to become synonymous with virtual and real life athletic club events
Get to leverage your experience working with or designing content management systems and solutions that enable our creators to self-serve
Collaborate with a terrific team of engineers, product managers, analysts, and researchers to forge strategies that make athletes, creators, partners, and Strava successful
Connect with a design organization full of talented, compassionate people who represent the athlete voice and work to bring joy and fun to the connected fitness experience
Being a great storyteller and a strategic presenter who can communicate athlete and partner problems and guide people through decisions that tackle these problems
You love to collaborate with cross-functional partners, and have a strong ability to both seek and integrate various inputs and vectors of feedback. You also have experience bringing people together to brainstorm, align, or prioritize.
Cultivating an alignment-driven approach that encourages feedback cycles from various internal sources
Collaborating with other product designers to help align to and extend the design system
Strong sense of balancing business value and user needs (such as, experience working in subscription businesses, business that depend on partner relationships, or third parties)
4+ years experience working on software / web application / mobile product teams
Fluency in Figma, FigJam, Sketch, UserTesting.com, Google Suite (Nice to have: Tableau, analytics, other forms of user testing, user interviewing)
Exposure / expertise in creation tools, content management systems, self-service software that enables teams and individuals to update websites, copy, images, etc. (Exposure / work on an events-based platform will be strongly considered)
Ability to create user friendly, intuitive interfaces, experiences, flows
Understands how to connect branding within areas being worked on, making it feel “inherently Strava”
Interest in growing strategic chops, and working with team to develop design strategies that make for great user experiences through facilitation, workshops, brainstorming
Accustomed to helping collaborators understand the tradeoffs of what can and can’t be done from a technical, user, or other standpoint
