We’re looking for an experienced Head of Product Research to continue leading and advancing our product research team to address key business objectives and influence product strategy across all Credit Karma business units. As an incoming experienced Head of Product Research, you’ll have a hand in shaping the next stage of the evolution of Product Research at Credit Karma, driving partnerships with Design, Product Management, Data Analytics and Marketing insights functions, and championing a member-centric approach to our products, business, and culture. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading an established team and function to deliver insights that impact business outcomes, envisioning a future that inspires excellence in research quality and practice, and deepening relationships and communication with executive leadership to deliver experiences that further Credit Karma’s mission in championing financial progress for all.

What you'll do:

  • Lead advancement of qualitative and quantitative product research capacities for all business units at Credit Karma
  • Set the vision, structure, and organizational scaffolding for the next stage of evolution in the product research function
  • Build and grow the team that delivers actionable insights at scale against the stage of product research adoption, maturity and vision
  • Develop and expand on strategic partnership with executive team, leaders of business units, and enable research team impact to have broad impact
  • Oversee skills and methodologies, learning & development opportunities, and establishing processes to maintain research quality bar for Credit Karma’s Product Research Team
  • Champion member insights through qualitative and quantitative research, socializing the team’s work for wider visibility, and encouraging the use of research insights upstream in product development process
  • Translate business priorities into team vision and aligning research activities to optimize business impact and influence over the future direction of the product
  • Support product research team in transforming research insights into innovative solutions that inform both Member and business problems and that deliver measurable outcomes
  • Activating team culture, morale, and assessing team health on an ongoing basis to ensure it remains positive, and intervening swiftly to address issues as and when they arise

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's, Masters' or Ph.D. degree in related field preferred or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least 10+ years of experience planning and executing user research studies
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic change in products and initiatives based on customer need, industry shifts and innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to drive multiple large complexity initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to explain the benefits of mixed methods product and user experience research and integrate within the design and product planning, estimation, and prioritization process
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate research and design thinking into the product development process

Pay Transparency Notice: Credit Karma’s mission of championing financial progress for all starts from within. That’s why we implemented role-based compensation, which ensures people who are in the same role receive the same pay with variations for geographic location only. It’s all part of a more comprehensive DEI strategy that helps level the playing field. The base salary range for this role is $340,237 to $350,188, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
