  • Appreciation for a collaborative, test-driven environment
  • Experience turning wireframes and mockups into responsive, accessible, tested code
  • Well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented code that balances beauty and pragmatism
  • Passionate about creating inclusive, accessible experiences for everyone

Learn more about the Design Systems team:

The Design Systems team is a group of folks whose primary goal is to empower internal teams to build high-quality and cohesive UI/UX with as much efficiency as possible. We do so by modularizing (creating reusable React components) and upgrading the quality of our front end.

What’s fascinating about our team is that we’re not just Engineers! Half of our team are Designers who know a thing or two about development. Our broad expertise makes us extremely cross-functional and our projects get directly consumed by the entire product.

If you’re an engineer that respects Design, is interested in being at the intersection of Design and Engineering, and wish to influence the product, you’ll want to join our team!

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $152,000-$182,000/year in Denver, Chicago, and Atlanta, $166,000-$198,000/year in Los Angeles and Seattle, and $185,000-$219,000/year for San Francisco and New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
