Team mission
As a Senior Content Designer, you will work with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, designers, and data professionals within a specific business area. You’ll craft high quality UX copy and develop a vision for your product area together with your peers, adapting your approach as you learn more about our customers’ needs and behavior. This role will join our user-centric and supportive Content Design team, a critical part of our broader UX team.
We’re looking for an experienced content designer with exceptional communication, UX copywriting, and content strategy skills who can help our customers discover the breadth of our inventory and find activities that fit their needs across our web and native app experiences. This person is a creative problem solver who’s passionate about digital products and making the technical feel human and authentic. They think in systems that unify and simplify user interactions and technical implementation across the UX, and can spot opportunities to deepen the impact of their work through new technology.
Your mission
- Develop a strategic user-centered point of view on our products, advocate for user needs, and evangelize your vision in a collaborative way.
- Take the lead on high-priority content design projects, ensuring that they align with the company's vision and objectives.
- Craft and refine compelling, simple, and usable UX copy that captivates audiences.
- Collaborate with product designers on information hierarchy and interaction flows across various platforms, including web, mobile, apps, emails, and more.
- Mentor and lead other content designers, guiding them through complex challenges involving multiple teams and roles.
- Partner with product designers and UX researchers to test your UX copy and approach, ensuring the highest quality in the final deliverables.
- Draw actionable insights from data and qualitative research to inform your writing and UX decisions.
- Contribute to and maintain tone-of-voice and writing guidelines, ensuring consistency in our products and user experience.
- Actively participate in product reviews, offering constructive feedback to enhance peers' decision-making skills and work quality.
- Be a primary collaborator with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers, all aimed at solving customer problems and elevating our user experience.
- You will manage communication autonomously with stakeholders, ensuring alignment, shared understanding, and clear explanations of your UX writing rationale.
- Serve as a key thought partner to product management and design leadership for your focus area, influencing the product strategy and roadmap.
Your toolkit
- 5+ years experience with end-to-end content design in a start-up, SMB, large company with a digital offering.
- A demonstrable problem-solving mindset, focusing on outcomes and not output, and applying user feedback or multivariate testing to validate content design solutions and copy;
- An innate ability to think systemically, understanding the broader implications of design decisions and how they fit into the larger ecosystem. You recognize the interconnectedness of our product offerings and can anticipate the ripple effects of design changes.
- Proven track-record in leading medium to large content design projects that demonstrate a user-centered approach and world-class deliverables;
- Complete familiarity with content design for multiple platforms, including mobile and desktop;
- Demonstrable ability to present content design solutions, articulate the decision rationale behind them, and develop a content strategy for a product;
- Demonstrable ability to be proactive and comfortable with working autonomously;
- Experience working closely within cross-disciplinary product teams, including product managers and engineers.
- A history of strong communication and collaboration with other functional roles is essential;
- A demonstrable understanding of how content design impacts business objectives and KPIs;
- Demonstrable experience on mentoring other designers and supporting and/or guiding freelancers.
