What will you do? (The role)

Content Design is an important and growing part of our Product Design speciality. Omnipresent sees content as a crucial part of its ongoing success – and we’re really focused on improving our content experience.

As a Sr. Content Designer, your day-to-day will vary but you’ll usually do a lot of design thinking, user testing, writing UI language, and maintaining our product content standards. Content Strategy sits within Product Design, and we have weekly writing and design critiques to make sure everyone agrees.

The content design specialty collaborates closely with PMs, Designers, Engineers and Design Researchers to identify solutions that prioritise our users’ needs.

What we’re looking for? (Previous experience)

  • You’re a senior Content Designer who has a proven track record of solving complex problems, ideally in the tech/SaaS industry. This means you have at least 3-5 years of content design or UX writing experience.
  • You have incredible writing skills and an impressive content portfolio, and are a stickler for brand voice, consistency and style.
  • You can work independently, but love collaborating with people from different disciplines and sharing the power of content design.
  • You know how to get buy-in from key stakeholders. You’ve got a track record of bringing people on the journey with you – they know what’s changing and why.
  • You like to move quickly, and aren’t afraid of fast growth and rapid change. You can work deeply, but are just as happy working quickly and pragmatically when required.
  • You maintain and help evolve content standards, best practices, guidelines, principles, and taxonomies for various audiences and initiatives
  • You know how to prioritise ruthlessly and handle responsibilities for a wide number of projects – focusing your attention on the areas that matter most.

You're the kind of person who... (Requirements)

  • Loves writing in-product messaging, interface copy, product education materials, and other content
  • Enjoys conducting audits of existing product language and pinpointing areas of improvement (eg. error messages, CTAs, labels, empty states, sign-up flows)
  • Partners with product designers to shape the user experience through language, components, and interaction patterns
  • Acts as a bridge between brand and product in the areas of style, standards, and communication in a way that supports the overall customer experience
  • Works excellently with others in and outside the team, naturally engaging them in what you’ve discovered or designed
  • Thinks both strategically and tactically, delivering value quickly and incrementally while pursuing a higher goal
  • Is humble and open to constructive feedback, both giving and receiving

What would make you really stand out? (Bonus points)

  • Experience in SaaS, especially HR tech
  • Experience in highly regulated industries where you have made technical, legal or financial content accessible to a general audience
  • Experience growing Content Design in a fast-growth startup

  • Home office setup: It should go without saying that we will provide you with the equipment you need to work from home in the same way you would if you were in an office. Prefer a PC to a Mac? No problem. You choose what you need. We'll give you a budget to get all the infrastructure that enables you to work effectively wherever you are, including broadband costs.
  • Education budget: Your development should be a continuous conversation with your manager and they will support you in choosing what you need whether that's accreditations, workshops, or formal degree programs or courses. Important is that you update your Individual Development Plan with any kind of education you take, so that you make sure that you apply the knowledge you have gained in theory, and the learned information will stay with you long term.
