The role and Team

As a Senior Copywriter/Content Writer, you’ll be a key driver in shaping and delivering compelling user-centered content that amplifies the brand and company mission. 
Your writing will be the lifeline that connects all customer touchpoints, from emails to web to app to long-form editorials and FAQ articles. You’ll bring your writing and brand voice chops to produce clear, concise, and sincere content that anyone can understand. 

In this role, you’ll need to be a self-starter capable of bringing creative (or just plain weird) solutions that push the limits of what content is today.   

You’ll be part of the Brand team at Back Market. We’re a team of self-aware creative and communication experts striving to stay off the beaten path, while staying honest about the company’s mission. We take an open minds, open hearts approach to new influences, cultures, and feedback.

Your Mission (if you accept it): ?

  • Write well-structured, engaging short and long-form content in the brand voice (e.g. emails, blog and FAQ articles) across a variety of creative projects and within tight deadlines.
  • Develop witty headlines and captions for web, app notifications, social media or visual assets.
  • Maintain company writing standards by writing in the brand voice and guidelines.
  • Raise the bar on creativity by developing compelling and engaging content that results in effective, culturally relevant, and insightful campaigns.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across teams to identify gaps and opportunities for content.
  • Explain complex or technical topics in accessible everyday language.
  • Collaborate with and/or manage other writers in making sure top-notch content is produced on time.

You are perfect if you have: ⭐

  • Solid experience (say around 4 years) writing consumer-facing digital content (products, apps, platforms) and brand writing (banners, social media, op-ed) in English.
  • Exceptional writing and communications skills with a good sense of balance between humor and sincerity; a high level of discernment about your audience that allows you to communicate a message in the most effective way.
  • Empathy and the curiosity to dive deep into complex topics and distill them in a way that anyone can understand.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once, a deft hand in prioritization and comfortability working in fast-paced environments.
  • The soft skills needed to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment within the company (art directors, designers, strategists, product managers) and externally (freelancers, commercial partners, agencies, etc.).
  • A belief in our mission and ideas about opportunities for better storytelling.
  • A desire to keep learning and a willingness to accept feedback from your team.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with product design tools is a huge plus (Figma, Miro, Lokalise, etc.).
  • Language fluency in another market where we’re present.
  • A love for pop-culture and an interest in current events.
