The Global Revenue Technology & Operations team is looking for a Product Owner (Marketing) to use their organizational and technical expertise in order to guide and manage the Marketing Technology team’s portfolio of projects and work, while working with stakeholders across different business groups to ensure priorities, and roadmaps are aligned and in sync with Shopify’s overall missions.
The right candidate is passionate about working with marketing platforms and processes, has experience managing a backlog of technical work, and an understanding of Agile best practices. You will be leveraging your knowledge of product ownership best practices while being involved in meetings to scope out stakeholder strategic goals, managing the Marketing Technology team’s backlog and prioritizing requests, reviewing epics/user stories, and working with the lead of the Marketing technology team to create a roadmap which is aligned with those of other key business groups at Shopify.
You’ll get to do things like:
Ensuring there is strong collaboration and communication across the stakeholder groups the Product Owner is responsible for.
Defining and managing key processes across the backlog that provide consistency, predictability, and transparency into how we manage our teams work
Liaise with stakeholders across the business to learn their marketing goals and translate that vision into our MarTech roadmap.
Identifying risks and interdependencies across requests from the business and larger projects driven by strategic initiatives.
Own the “definition of done” and ensure work addresses the stakeholder’s needs properly.
Work with the Business System Analysts, Martech Managers, Technical Program Managers, and others to see projects reach production efficiently and predictably.
Managing the Martech backlog as it relates to the overall roadmap of the team.
Participate in Retrospectives.
Prior experience working in a Product owner, Marketing Operations role or similar experience managing a marketing technology portfolio
Ability to articulate and understand MarTech requirements as it relates to systems and infrastructure to support a GTM Revenue Engine.
Previous working experience with CRM Platforms (i.e. Salesforce).
Previous experience prioritizing and managing a technical backlog
Ability to work cross-functionally to quickly implement projects.
Be proactive and capable of seeking information independently, solving conceptual problems and delivering results.
Ability to translate business goals into technical requirements.
Excellent communication skills, especially to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to prioritize numerous, and competing high-priority tasks.
Outside of the box thinker who sees opportunity in obstacles and possibilities in challenges
A “losing is not an option” attitude and willing to come up with creative, unconventional, and unique solutions to achieve goals
Bonus Experience:
Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) Certifications
Certification in either Marketo Certified Associate or Marketo Certified Expert.
Deep understanding of Salesforce CRM.
Familiar with a range of additional MarTech tools (i.e. Drift, SplashThat, LeanData, Bizible).
