We are looking for two experienced Product Owners to join our Invoicing team.

About the roles:

The Invoicing team’s mission is to help small businesses save time and improve cash flow. We aim to give small businesses time back to focus on running their business, and enjoying their life, by automating the hard stuff and making administration easy. Our products help businesses around the world get paid on time.

This is a critical time for the Invoicing team and Xero. We are looking for two product owners to lead new Pods on their missions. One mission is to contribute to our modernisation journey and create a beautiful experience throughout the critical Invoicing workflows for our customers. The second mission is to solve critical technology challenges that are impacting our customers in their workflows in many ways. These are new pods that are yet to be hired. As the first hire you will have the opportunity to get up to speed and build context about your problem space as we build out the product team.

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for partnering your engineering team to execute the product vision, strategy and roadmap. You will help the pod strike a balance between delivering at pace and ensuring we maintain an excellent customer experience.

You’ll ensure product, design and engineering are considered side-by-side. You will make sure the boundaries of your products (what the pod owns and what they don’t) are articulated and understood inside and outside of the pod. You’ll be working with a number of internal teams, sometimes to accelerate their development work, other times to create components and tools to help us all move faster.

Product development is a team sport at Xero and you’ll find that our teams are well resourced and supported to deliver beautiful software.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

Experience as a product owner, in a software or product environment ( other comparable technical environments will also be considered )
You're a natural motivator who thrives off championing your product team
You’re great at articulating ideas to both technical and non technical areas of the business
You have the ability to break down complex problems, deliver real-world business outcomes and set priorities in a high change environment
You’re diplomatic and great at building strong and meaningful relationships
Have a passion for understanding and empathising with our customers
You will be working with Data to ensure its use for prioritisation and making decisions to direct the team
You are deeply curious, empathetic, humble and have an owner’s mindset
