Do you enjoy working with Podcasters to help them improve their craft? Does developing marketing strategies that resonate with those new to podcasting to the most well known individuals and leading brands sound like your calling? We are looking for someone who has a passion for the Podcasting user segment with familiarity with the tool stack for creation. Help shape our go to market and user value creation for a fast growing user segment at Descript.
What will you do?
- Be the face of podcasting for Descript - contribute at events or panels on the future of podcasting and the shifting of the new tech stack of creation. Speaker/evangelist on podcast community and events.
- Define a compelling and relevant and timely set of value propositions for Podcasters
- Identify key marketing partnerships, venues to build relationships with podcasters - from novices to experts
- Work with our PR team for contributing to podcast interviews/ dedicated media newsletters
- Persona development of our users in podcasting - individuals to teams
- Build out Podcasting value props, use cases, thought leadership, assets across channels, including the website
- Track product usage to develop targeted programs with the marketing team to maximize cross portfolio product usage for the Podcasting segment.
- Contribute to competitive benchmarking and positioning for this segment
- Create and test copy along with our marketing content team for different mediums, from ad and web copy, to one-pagers and pitches for the Podcasting audience
- Support influencers within Podcast segment working w/ Influencer manager
- Help define templates for use cases
- Input to pricing models for podcast use case
- Work with community manager to build network within Descript podcasters
- Measure and track Podcast acquisition across different creator facing products and markets in partnership with the growth team
- Market sizing and growth analysis for Podcasting segment
- Measured by growth in accounts and revenue for podcasting use case. Build top of funnel programs to attract Podcasting users, from individuals to agencies
Qualifications
- Experienced product marketing, industry marketing, or marketing in a media company (4+ years) with proven results
- Recent experience as a Podcaster, or supporting the Podcast community or marketing segment
- Detailed project management experience
- Analytical, data-driven decision-maker
- Excellent communicator and collaborator across marketing, customer success, product, engineering and sales teams
- Excellent written skills
- Experience with marketing muti-use products
- Experience at a B2C/B2B/SaaS company
Bonus profile
- Experience working with/ using Amplitude, Google Analytics, customer.io or other email marketing tools, Webflow, Segment, and in product messaging tools
- Experience in the media creation process
- Worked with creator-oriented tools (design, 3D, audio/video)
