About the role

We need someone to lead the marketing efforts for our insurance products. Insurance is a relatively new addition to the services that UW offers and this year we are repositioning insurance as a core part of our multi-service offer, and intending to massively increase the proportion of UW customers who choose to take it. Beyond that we intend to keep developing the range of Insurance products and services we offer. We also have an existing customer base of 700,000 customers to cross-sell to. We’re looking for someone to help us capitalise on the exciting high growth opportunity ahead of us.

You’ll be part of our Customer Product Marketing team, but embedded within a cross-functional Insurance product team, which also has a product manager, UX designer, data analyst, and a number of software engineers. Alongside this team you’ll work closely with Creative & Design, Marketing Operations and Marketing CRM. Key stakeholders include our Head of Insurance, Head of Home Services Product and Financial Services Director.

This is a great chance to help shape a nascent and fast growing Insurance business that is expected to be recognised as one of the 50 biggest personal lines brokers in the UK in 2022 (less than 2 years after achieving direct FCA authorisation), and is on a trajectory to make a real impact in the UK market.

What you'll do

  • Identifying opportunities for impactful new campaign activities and working with creative, and marketing operations to effectively and rapidly deliver those campaigns.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and continually refining our approach: introducing new A/B tests and regularly discussing your findings, learnings and wins with the broader team.
  • Monitoring performance of our overall sales funnels for all our products (Home Insurance, Bill Protector and Boiler & Home Cover), identifying key opportunities for improvements.
  • Working closely with the Insurance Product Manager and Software Engineers; helping one another to make priority calls and to understand the benefit of what you are working to achieve.
  • Building and communicating an understanding of the insurance competitor landscape and a narrative and positioning that differentiates UW’s insurance offering.
  • Working with the Partner Marketing team to ensure our Partners play an effective role in maximising uptake of our Insurance Products.
  • Spending time with our Sales and Service agents, understanding how they, and our customers, perceive our products.
  • Building a good working understanding of the compliance matters which affect UW’s Insurance activities and are able to work within them, knowing when to escalate decisions to the Head of Insurance and/or our specialist Legal and Compliance Team.
