About This Role

Strava is the leading social platform for athletes and the largest sports community in the world, with over 85 million athletes in 195 countries. If you sweat you’re an athlete, and Strava’s mobile apps and website connect millions of active people every day! We’re growing fast, with millions of athletes coming specifically to find places to run, ride, compete, and explore.

The Growth Lifecycle team is focused on growing Strava’s engaged community through multi-channel programs that deliver the right message at the right time. We’re looking for a PMM to join our team to build an athlete engagement strategy aimed at driving frequent and habitual use of the platform and community.

A key partner to the product management, research, analytics, CRM and design leads working across Growth, you’ll be a passionate advocate for athletes around the world, helping to shape the Growth product roadmap based on your keen, insights-driven analysis. As someone energized by starting things, you’ll also scope, initiate, and execute a portfolio of innovative marketing programs that motivate and drive engagement with both new and tenured Strava athletes.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Own automated, always-on marketing communications focused on driving athlete activation in all areas of the user journey from conception to execution.

  • Formulate creative, data-driven tests that produce key insights and measurable impact.

  • Identify key audience segments, map the customer journey and establish key intervention points and communication strategies to get athletes more engaged and active on Strava.

  • Partner closely with teams including researching, product, design and marketing communications to ground our product marketing strategy in the athlete experience.

  • You will be a key player in building processes and ways of working with cross-functional partners that will inform how Strava’s growth organization will operate moving forward.

  • Be a key player in growing the Strava business and meeting aggressive growth goals.

You will be successful here by:

  • Being a strategic problem-solver who brings customer-centric perspectives and solutions.

  • Being driven by data: you know what to measure, when to measure, how to establish a baseline and how to show real improvement.

  • Actively driving collaboration and alignment across a range of partner teams in order to build, refine, communicate, and scale.

We’re excited about you because:

  • You have 4+ years of experience in growth or lifecycle marketing.

  • You have a passion for driving connection through technology, experience building growth loops is an added plus.

  • You have a deep understanding of growth & optimization, best practices such as A/B testing.

  • You have experience building athlete journey maps.

  • You’re analytical and empathetic, as good in a spreadsheet as you are in a design review.

  • You pay close attention to details, juggle multiple projects at once and possess great organizational skills.

  • You’re fascinated by consumer behavior and want to learn what motivates people to try something new, and what holds them back from engaging on Strava.

  • You can refine great ideas over time, adjusting marketing tactics and plans as needed.

  • You can prioritize ruthlessly, and make good on your commitments

  • You are incredible when it comes to working effectively across different teams, from marketing to product to engineering.

About Strava

Strava is Swedish for “strive,” which epitomizes who we are and what we do. We’re a passionate and committed team, unified by our mission to connect athletes to what motivates them and help them find their personal best. And with billions of activity uploads from all over the world, we have a humbling and audacious vision: to be the record of the world’s athletic activities and the technology that makes every effort count.

Strava builds software that makes the best part of our athletes’ days even better. And just as we’re deeply committed to unlocking their potential, we’re dedicated to providing a world-class, inclusive workplace where our employees can grow and thrive, too. We’re backed by Sequoia Capital, Madrone Partners and Jackson Square Ventures, and we’re expanding in order to exceed the needs of our growing community of global athletes. Our culture reflects our community – we are continuously striving to hire and engage diverse teammates from all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives because we know we are a stronger team together.

In light of the global pandemic, Strava is currently working in a fully remote capacity. As always, we remain committed to fully supporting our employees, especially their mental health and wellbeing, through these challenging times. Despite challenges in the world around us, we are continuing to grow camaraderie and positivity within our culture and we are unified in our commitment to becoming an antiracist company. We are differentiated by our truly people-first approach, our compassionate leadership, and our belief that we can bring joy and inspiration to athletes’ lives — now more than ever. All to say, it’s a great time to join Strava!
