About the team
&Open's Product team is responsible for creating a gifting platform that’s beautiful, fast and easy to use. We design the UIs & the flow, write the texts & the help and problem-solve client issues so that everything works together. We collaborate widely to make the experience of giving, and receiving, a gift even more joyous. And we work hard to ensure that our unique product takes care of the tricky things — like worldwide logistics and gifting from multiple sources — so that our clients don’t have to. It makes for a lot of fun.
About the role
We’re seeking a Product Marketing Manager to bridge the communication gaps between our Marketing, Account Management and Product teams. This role will be responsible for knowing our product inside and out, while having a keen understanding of how different aspects of our offerings can be marketed effectively and accurately. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical, analytical and creative skills with a desire to become a subject matter expert on the &Open platform.
What you’ll do
- Strategise. On all things product marketing-related. Launch key roadmap activity, from inbound insight gathering to positioning and messaging to outbound go-to-market plans.
- Simplify and storytell. Effectively market our product by communicating simply and clearly to clients. Our platform should never sound complicated or intimidating.
- Plan, plan, plan. Create a go-to-market strategy for product launches, including positioning, channels, audience segmentation, localisation and coordination of creative assets. Then move forward with implementing it.
- Work cross-functionally. Across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Creative, Account Management and Sales teams, deriving insights and ensuring execution of strategic plans.
- Help develop content. For internal and external audiences, relaying product/solution strategies and value propositions. This includes customer presentations, sales training materials, thought leadership and demand generation assets.
- Analyse. Use data to set goals and uncover key takeaways post-product launches.
- Be an advocate. Identify areas of product needs based on qualitative and quantitative research. Monitor competitor activity and identify customer needs.
- Relationship-build. Within our market. This helps us build functions and collateral to support the success of the Sales team.
- Examples of deliverables include (but are not limited to): product communication across all audiences, market analysis and research, marketing collateral and competitive enablement tools.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing/SaaS marketing
- Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Marketing preferred
- Strong experience gained in working with or within a Marketing, Sales and/or Success team, servicing mid-level and enterprise clients
- Collaborative approach with the ability to lead a team or project when needed
- Stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Proactive mindset, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Hard working, collaborative and inquisitive qualities
- Creative ability to convey messaging in a simple way that will resonate with the appropriate target audience
- Strong communication and networking skills
- Strategic perspective with the ability to analyse and confidently make data-based decisions
