Company Description

Opportunity is not evenly distributed. Shopify puts independence within reach for anyone with a dream to start a business. Since 2006, we’ve grown to over 10,000 employees and generated over $496 billion in sales for millions of merchants in 175 countries. Every 28 seconds, an entrepreneur on Shopify makes their first sale.

This is life-defining work that directly impacts people’s lives as much as it transforms your own. This is putting the power of the few in the hands of the many, is a future with more voices rather than fewer, and is creating more choices instead of an elite option.

About You:
Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Shopifolk thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. That means Shopify is not the right place for everyone.

Before you apply, consider if you can:

  • Care deeply about what you do and about making commerce better for everyone
  • Excel by seeking professional and personal hypergrowth
  • Keep up with an unrelenting pace (the week, not the quarter)
  • Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change
  • Bring critical thought and opinion
  • Embrace differences and disagreement to get shit done and move forward
  • Work digital-first for your daily work

Job Description

We are seeking a leader in product marketing to help us establish Commerce Components from the ground up for our enterprise market. In this role as an individual contributor, you would work closely with our executive team, marketing, product and sales to build the marketing motion that establishes the foundation for growth within the portfolio. This role sits with the Revenue Marketing team, and requires in-depth experience in technical product marketing within an enterprise, sales-led environment—messaging specifically to a Technology and Revenue Leader persona (think CTO, CIO, CRO, CEO).

  • Strong ownership of a business area, leading the product marketing strategies and plans to meet revenue goals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the product’s value propositions, core capabilities, and market landscape.
  • Meet with PMs, PMMs, Revenue Operations, Data and Marketing teams to understand and define revenue targets and business goals, and aim cross-functional groups to prioritize focus on the right things at the right time to drive growth.
  • Partner closely with sales to understand and address buyer and stakeholder needs through the sales process.
  • Own and measure success metrics, working with Data Science and Marketing Operations to scope measurement and instrumentation needs.
  • Communicate success regularly through cross-functional meetings to highlight success and impact against business goals.
  • Influence pricing, packaging and incentives for the enterprise segment.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, UX, Sales, Communications, Creative and Marketing teams to launch cohesive GTM plans.
  • Leverage market, product, and customer insights to help define the roadmap and ensure a consistent, compelling customer experience.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional leaders and teams to share ideas and opportunities, identify strategies to overcome roadblocks, and iterate on positioning, messaging, and the marketing plan.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with large enterprise, sales-led go-to-market configurations.
  • A technical product marketing background - experience marketing Dev Tools, SDKs, APIs, etc.
  • Experience interfacing with and marketing to technical leaders (CTO,CIO), and revenue leaders (CEO, CRO, CFO).
  • You have experience building marketing strategies to sell solutions targeting enterprise buyers (decision-makers), while also architecting marketing plans for end-users (technical and non-technical audiences).
  • Experience defining and meeting revenue targets and being accountable for your area’s performance against those targets.
  • Strong understanding of how to leverage data and research to shape insights and inform high-level product and marketing strategies.
