Gong is looking for a Director of Product Marketing to join our Marketing team.  In this role, you will report to the Vice President of Product Marketing to lay the foundation for product marketing at Gong and collaborate with stakeholders across the company on key initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for owning product marketing for one of Gong’s key product pillars.  You will work closely with the product management team on defining and driving successful product and market launches. 

This includes doing deep customer, competitor, and market research and translating this into compelling messaging, buyer personas, sales decks, and more.  You will also collaborate with the broader marketing team on campaign strategies to ensure your product is hitting revenue targets. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to ensure your product is successful post-launch from an adoption and engagement standpoint.

You are an exceptional product champion with extensive experience in enterprise B2B product marketing and proven success in scaling product marketing teams. You have experience developing strategic and innovative GTM programs for B2B software products and successfully launched high-growth products in your career. You deeply understand market dynamics, customer needs, the competitive landscape, and product.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will serve as the subject matter expert for the product, both internally and externally. Working with cross-functional teams (especially Product Management and Sales) and approaching business problems in a data-driven and structured manner are fundamental aspects of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a deep understanding of our target market, including buyer personas, key uses cases, and customer needs through research and customer interactions
  • Own product positioning & messaging for your product line
  • Craft engaging and high-quality marketing collateral across channels (web copy, webinars, sales decks, sales plays, website messaging, demo videos, etc.)
  • Opportunity to present on virtual and in-person stages including Gong’s annual conference
  • Work closely with the Demand Generation team on marketing campaigns to drive pipeline and retention for your product line
  • Equip our sales teams to win more deals with messaging, sales strategies, materials, tools, and market knowledge in partnership with sales enablement

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of marketing experience, preferably with 7+ years of product marketing experience in the B2B SaaS space
  • Track record with a modern marketing mix
  • Has developed value-based narratives, created thought leadership
  • Uses data and research to back recommendations and decisions 
  • Proven successful experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including sales, enablement, product, and more
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Self-starter with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Stand out verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous start-up experience is a huge plus
