Thyme Care is an oncology digital health start-up that’s focused on radically improving the cancer experience with early and ongoing intervention. We help those with cancer and their caregivers, clinicians, health plans, and employers by coordinating integrated care that leads to better results, lower costs, and aligned incentives. Every Thyme Care member is assigned a personalized team of physician-guided oncology nurses and resource specialists who provide education, guidance, and advocacy as they navigate the complex healthcare system. We facilitate quick access to quality resources and high-value care, coordinating directly with providers and offering support every step of the way. Our high-touch, tech-enabled model generates actionable insights that allow us to identify at-risk members earlier and offer them the most relevant support based on where they are in their cancer journey—closing gaps in care and eliminating excess spend.

Your mission

This role is uniquely positioned, as a first of its kind product manager role at Thyme Care, that will have accountability for developing net new products and features in a quickly growing business line. At a high level, you will partner with our VP of Clinical Network + Strategy and Directors of Network Operations to define the product requirements necessary to support our evolving offering to oncologists, primary care providers, and other specialists. You’ll collaborate across our software engineering, data science, member operations, growth, and market operations teams to build products and services that deliver value to the business and ultimately serve those who support patients on their cancer journey.

By the end of your sixth month on the job we’d expect you to have:

  • Facilitated user and market research to identify worthwhile product investments to support our partner providers, and subsequently have scoped solutions and have begun building these products.
  • As a core member of our product team, you’ve helped us build a first-class product organization by creating good habits around the ways in which we work: how we define our product scoping templates, run our meeting cadences, our team communication norms, etc.
  • Built processes for internal input into our product roadmap and developed mechanisms to facilitate rollouts of new products and features.
  • Contributed to the growth of Thyme Care by representing the tech team in customer-facing discussions - scoping new projects, providing analytics on existing projects, and communicating our product roadmap. This will be an integral part of your role, so it’s important you’re comfortable working with external partners.

What leads to success:

  • People-first. Thyme Care’s mission and members matter to you, deeply.
  • Experience. You understand medical providers and the ecosystem in which they operate. You also have a view on how product-led companies should operate. You’re technical enough to discuss tradeoffs with engineers and can get your hands dirty with data.  Where you may not have the skillset to complete a task today, you are willing to invest time to learn.
  • Strong translator. You are able to clearly explain technical ideas and concepts to non-technical teammates.
  • Net-new development. You've built and deployed web applications and data products from the ground up. You can visualize ideas through mockups and prototypes; and you find creative solutions to tough problems.
  • Humility and integrity. You listen first, act second. You build consensus by default, but can drive hard decisions when needed. You push the pace. You recognize that hard problems are solved by teams, not individuals. You say what you’ll do, and do what you say. You hold your team to this standard. You don’t let details slip.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You have experience working on highly ambiguous problems, where solutions are developed via a rigorous and intellectually honest iterative process.

We are committed to promoting the health and well-being of all individuals. As a provider of cancer care navigation, we recognize that those with cancer constitute a vulnerable population at risk of contracting COVID-19.  As such, Thyme Care has adopted a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, requiring all employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment, subject only to conflicting laws and approved exemptions based on medical or religious objections.

Additionally, we believe employees should be paid fairly compared to their peers inside the company and in the market. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration so we allow some choice between equity and cash.

We recognize a history of inequality in healthcare. We’re here to challenge the status quo and create a culture of inclusion through the care we give and the company we build. We embrace and celebrate a diversity of perspectives in reflection of our members and the members we serve. We are an equal opportunity employer.
