Why is this opportunity being created ?

In the market today, the charge experience is usually very steep and functional. Users usually complain about a minimalist experience (no roof, no services) and even a poorly designed station (no enough space, cables too short for their vehicles).

Leveraging both digital (app, supervision) and physical (station, IoT) products, Electra has the ambition to create the best charging service in Europe. The design of the stations is a cornerstone of this experience. This is why Electra is building a new team dedicated to the design of the stations.

Main challenge:

As a Product Manager in charge of the Station Design will need to optimise the station upon 3 criteria: the charge experience, the technical feasibility and cost-optimisation, and the attraction of traffic. By doing so, you will need to coordinate different types of ressources at Electra (Designers, Architects, Project Managers, Realization Managers) and align different senior stakeholders within the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the design of the stations, in accordance with Electra Brand, budget and feasibility constraints, tenders specificities.
  • Be the point of coordination with the different Electra teams involved, in particular the Operations team.
  • Beyond the stations, the PM will define the charging concept to create a unique experience, pitch them in large tenders.
  • The PM is accountable on the management of the complete product cycle, from defining the concept to it’s the realisation, liaising with external sub-contactors and internal stakeholders.
  • Be responsible to transpose the station design on the different geographies of Electra, with the local management.

Main tasks on a daily basis:

The station design will go through Electra’s product framework : Discover → Define → Design → Deliver

Discovery:

  • Perform an active market watch of the competition
  • Collect feedbacks from users though interviews, data analytics, observations, NPS, to improve the station
  • Active industrial player watch
  • Perform continuous improvement

Define:

  • Define the concept of the stations
  • Understand the technical constraints (civil engineering, urbanism, electrical engineering) and functionnal constraints to incorporate them in the definition of the solution
  • Design the user journeys in station through experience maps

Design:

  • Collaborate with designers and architects to create the station “modules”
  • Find industrial partners for realisation when required

Delivery:

  • Contractualise with industrial partners
  • Perform the project management upon delivery
