About the Opportunity

At Salsify, our Product team fosters an environment of growth, curiosity, collaboration, and deep empathy for our users and each other. As a Product Manager 2 on our Network Core team, you will be the steward of our foundational global Network of critical integrations with global retail and ecommerce platform partners. This role is critical as we work to make informed decisions that allow Salsify to continue our leadership in the PXM category by enabling our customers and partners to provide consumers with a best-in-class omnichannel experience.

In this role, we’re looking for a proactive learner who is excited about understanding technical concepts and connecting those with business value. Our Network Core team is tasked with maintaining, enhancing, and evolving our network of key content destinations like Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, and many others, to enable our customers to “make every product experience matter”. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build a functional understanding of our ecosystem, prioritize investments to ensure platform reliability and maintainability, and partner closely with Engineering, cross-functional partners, and Product leadership to bridge the gap between technical requirements, user needs, and business value.

What does success look like?

  • Ensure the stability of core foundational systems while identifying incremental improvements and AI-driven enhancements to optimize workflows.
  • Develop domain expertise and become a credible resource for both internal teams and external partners -- documenting and sharing learnings to enable the broader organization.
  • Navigate complex migrations, deprecations, and technical investment initiatives by providing clear visibility into timelines and risks.
  • Operate effectively in partnership with Engineering, other PMs, and Design demonstrating technical aptitude and developing a shared vision.

If you’re the ideal candidate:

  • You possess a high capacity for, and drive to learn technical domains (e.g., system reliability, infrastructure, or technical operations) and can translate that knowledge into well-documented requirements, which are framed appropriately for your engineering team, your leadership team, your cross-functional partners, and of course, your customers.
  • You have a proven track record of independently proposing pragmatic solutions and gaining buy-in across R&D teams for horizontal initiatives.
  • You leverage data to prioritize the important over the urgent, and you are methodical in addressing both short-term fixes and long-term stability.
  • You can adapt your communication style to resonate with everyone from engineers to customers to product leadership, ensuring alignment on objectives and dependencies.
  • You bring a positive, growth-oriented mindset to a constantly evolving environment and view setbacks as opportunities to learn.
  • You’re able to Identify opportunities to enhance the value of technical investments by finding opportunities to connect them with customer or business facing initiatives that drive more visible value to non-technical stakeholders.

Background and Experience:

  • 5+ years of product management or similar experience in technical domains, especially focusing on Network or partnership, system reliability, technical operations, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of building strong cross-functional relationships with colleagues and partners and building influence within an organization that is brimming with strong opinions and deep expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: must be sharp, energetic, outspoken, and results-oriented; able to prioritize and focus in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Problem-solving abilities: You're proactive in identifying issues, and you're methodical in creating solutions that address both short-term fixes and long-term stability.
  • Ability to collect and deeply understand user feedback and then amplify that learning to the organization.
  • Strong change management skills including sorting through ambiguity and a positive mindset about change
  • An analytical mindset and the aptitude to partner with Engineering on more technical projects
  • You leverage data to prioritize investments and make informed decisions that maximize impact.
  • Experience with escalation management.

There may be up to 5% travel required including international travel for in-person company, departmental, team or customer meetings.
