You’re meeting someone for the first time. Your good friend, who knows you very well, has set you up with someone who might be a great match for you.

Prepare an outfit? Not going for a gala here but still something nice. Think of how you’ll keep it exciting? Weather talk won’t suffice, one would need to show some personality here. Ready to stand out? Definitely, let’s start with showing the more fun side of yourself!

And things can go in so many ways! You never connect in the first place. Or you have a spark but it quickly turns out to not be that. Or… Or you end up together for years, might even be the happily ever after scenario. Then it’s probably a good thing you prepped for that first meet-up back in the day.

All this could be a metaphor for our Onboarding team’s work. Only this time our marketing team has set you up with millions of our potential customers. And quite a few of them want to sign up. No pressure.

Being a spending solution that’s great for small and medium businesses we have a big audience (like, tens of thousands of companies big). Pleo as a product is meant to help and get out of the way. Same goes for the new customer onboarding — we iterate on making flow faster, simpler, more automated, all while keeping it friendly and enjoyable. Having worked on great products yourself you know how easy it is to say and how hard it is to deliver.

What do we think makes this role challenging? Constantly investigating and rapidly experimenting. Being a diplomat who deals with stakeholders from all parts of the organization. Dealing with 1000 opinions flying at you. Mastering everything related to sign up (onboarding) flows, funnel optimisation and conversion patterns (and not airline-ticket-dark patterns! 😅). Though, nothing unusual for a PM life.

• Are fluent in running A/B tests
• Have built successful (financial) products using data, customer feedback, common sense
• Have background in customer research, psychology, websites, or design
