The Enterprise Technology group works across the business to support people and methods, and improve our technology and strategic capability. We work within the wider Technology portfolio to be one of the most sustainably excellent software engineering companies in the world.  As a group, we provide the technical capabilities needed to support the key corporate, product and company strategic initiatives. We act as a trusted consultant and advisor for improving, evolving and building new platforms and solutions that support Xero across multiple business units, markets and territories. 

This role has a focus on the platforms, systems and architecture that will scale to support the regional and global experiences of over 5000 employees, automating core processes around Attracting, Recruiting, Onboarding, Growth and Development, Reward and Retention.

As a Product Manager you will be working closely with a talented team and be responsible for executing on our product vision and roadmap by creating and delivering innovative solutions that solve real-world problems.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the planning, implementation and delivery of projects on time, on budget and to the desired quality and scope.
  • Lead the development of initiatives into structured projects and programmes.
  • Facilitate the definition of scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Develop fit for purpose project plans and approaches (including agile, iterative and waterfall).
  • Assemble project teams from internal and external resource pools as required.
  • Vendor management where required.
  • Assist with recruitment, staff induction and training where required.
  • Report on the progress of projects including risks and issues/problems and solutions at regular intervals.
  • Embrace and champion the project(s) assigned and drive delivery of the change to a high standard.
  • Be able to manage concurrent projects and prioritise the effort on each according to organisational priorities.
  • Maintain strong communications with all teams at Xero.
  • Maintain a balanced perspective by building relationships and interacting with relevant internal stakeholders. 
  • Work across the spectrum of project delivery activity from coordination to management, owning the outcome.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to transition project deliverables into BAU.
  • Help to develop and roll out strategies for project delivery and communications across the Technology groups, and other teams when appropriate.
  • Develop repeatable processes’, where practicable, to increase efficiency in project delivery.
  • Clear and concise escalation of any complex risks or issues.

What you'll bring with you:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and delivering multiple projects
  • Experience working with enterprise systems and integrations including HRIS, Payroll & ERP would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Experience in Discovery and Planning for both business-led and tech-led initiatives
  • Fluency in Agile and Waterfall concepts
  • Confidence in coaching business teams towards project success
  • An understanding of Business Process Improvement, Business Preparedness, and Change Management concepts
  • Demonstrated experience in Stakeholder Management
  • Demonstrated Vendor Management, and Professional Services agreements
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Delivery and/or Project Management certification is preferred
