The Neighborhood Vitality pillar focuses on providing an active and welcoming platform for neighbors who want to invest in their communities. We currently focus on fostering a sense of belonging within neighborhoods, building specialized role-based tools for organizing the community and building tools to verify the authenticity of the neighbors and organizations on the platform. In addition, we invest in trust and vitality through content moderation, member verification, and trust and safety systems.
The Vitality team’s mission is to help neighbors have kind conversations with one another to encourage active participation by neighbors. The team owns the content reporting flows, community moderation system, neighbor & org verification, and all our content classifiers to understand the tone and purpose of conversations on the platform.
As a Product Manager in the Neighborhood Vitality Pillar, you will partner closely with designers, researchers, data scientists, engineers, and fellow product managers to define the product vision that enables neighbors to have kind conversations with real people. You will be a thought leader in the company to define what neighborhood vitality means and how Nextdoor could be part of the journey of building active valued communities. You will work closely with the marketing team to define positioning and go-to-market strategy around these use cases and with the partnerships team to build strategic partnerships with external resources.
Your responsibilities will include:
Work closely with cross-functional partners: community program, product management, data science, engineering, insights, design, and partnerships
Be the ‘go-to’ leader for insights around community moderation
Develop a long-term vision for enabling kind conversations on Nextdoor; create the product strategy, roadmap and milestones for existing and future use cases
Align the organization around the vision and strategy
Lead the team that implements these products, from initial MVP to continuous iteration and testing
Experience in Trust and Safety for online content moderation or harm / fraud prevention
Strong track record of shipping world-class consumer products
Familiarity with leveraging research and insights to inform product strategy
Strong analytical thinker in order to interpret data, thoroughly analyze results, and drive to critical outcomes and success
Excitement about partnering with Design as a strategic partner and building a collaborative relationship with design team members around exploring multiple solution spaces
Experience developing new product surfaces and building the organizational alignment around the new opportunity
Excellent written and communication skills especially to senior executives
Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $108,000 to $173,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
