Forbes is currently seeking a smart, curious and motivated Product Manager to join the Product Development team.  This role will report to the Director of Product Development, Memberships & Subscriptions and will be responsible for innovation and end-to-end definition of features and products that drive towards long-term strategic goals and creates value for our business and users. They will work collaboratively across the product, growth, technology, editorial and revenue teams to design and build features that support the acquisition and retention of premium members based on user research, competitive market analysis and best practices in UX and behavioral design.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product discovery process to refine ideas by establishing a deep understanding user problems and business requirements, and defining appropriate and impactful product solutions based on: data analysis, user research, technical exploration, experimentation and assumption validation
  • Work in an Agile environment, continuously reviewing the business needs, refining priorities, outlining milestones and deliverables, and identifying opportunities and risks
  • Gather input from product, growth editorial & business leadership, competitive analysis, user research, analytics tools, and A/B testing to drive definition of new features accessible to premium members and plan product roadmap
  • Define product KPIs, actively measure and analyze customer data for opportunities to innovate and improve
  • Define and document user personas and customer journeys
  • Work hands-on with product/UX designers to create developer-ready wireframes, mocks and specs
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and product team to enable effective prioritization and delivery of features by cross-functional teams and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with growth, product design/UX, business and engineering teams and maintain strong relationships and alignment with relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-release to evaluate value and future investment of time and resources
  • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and innovation within the digital publishing and membership/subscription spaces

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 3-5 years building and shipping consumer-facing digital products
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen. (Digital publishing and/or memberships and subscriptions experience is a PLUS.)
  • Experience translating strategy and research into a clear vision and roadmap for delivery
  • A working understanding of current front and back-end web technologies
  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with UX and engineering teams with high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles, and willingness to experiment, iterate, innovate, and fail quickly
  • Working experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, etc. and with leveraging analytical inputs to create well-rounded and sustainable solutions
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple work streams effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment; Also, equally comfortable going deep into both technical huddles with engineers and strategic discussions with executives
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Great team player with a positive, strategic approach to problem solving and to respectfully building relationships within the team and across the company
  • Navigates ambiguity well and thrives in an intrapreneurial environment
