We are looking for entrepreneurial and passionate Product Managers to innovate and execute across a rapidly growing, fast paced company and industry.

Through your leadership, you’ll bridge technical, business, and operations worlds as you design technologies with creative and prolific engineers, leverage your technical expertise to identify setbacks and roadblocks within a project and generate solutions for resolving them quickly. You will have a bias for action to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at Lyft speed.

The Foundations Vertical within Marketplace builds critical products that enable other teams within Marketplace and across Lyft to scale. As the Product Manager for Experimentation Platform and Machine Learning Platform you’ll work with an incredible team of Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists and Product Engineers to build a suite of products to improve key elements of our foundational technology, the Experimentation Platform and the Machine Learning Platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Lyft wide vision for Machine Learning Platform and or Experimentation Platform (depending on candidate) 
  • Understand internal stakeholder needs including the differences amongst use cases and translate those into a platform roadmap
  • Stay plugged in to industry trends and best practices
  • Distinguish when to build vs buy and to manage vendor relationships
  • Understand the complex interactions between riders and drivers in a rideshare marketplace and the effect that pricing, pay and matching have on rider, driver and marketplace outcomes
  • Understand Lyft’s strategic and competitive position using data analysis, market research and usability studies.
  • Translate customer needs and constraints into a coherent set of product features that solve these needs with a continuous path of improvement
  • Set goals for the team with clear success metrics
  • Lead and align cross functional partners and teams: engineers, designers, analysts, marketers, business partners and operations to drive a shared vision.
  • Completely own your team's products, existing or new, from ideation, through development, launch, growth and maintenance.

Experience:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field
  • 3+ years of product management experience, leading high performing product teams
  • Experience creating product roadmaps from conception to launch, driving product vision, defining go-to-market strategy, and leading design discussions
  • Deep technical expertise in a quantitative field - Operations Research / Machine Learning / Causal inference 
  • A track record of building technical platforms - Machine Learning and or Experimentation
  • A track record of building quantitative products - pricing, personalization, recommendations, forecasting, etc.  
  • Advanced problem-solving skills ­with the ability to think creatively to resolve difficult situations with a proven record of follow-through on assigned tasks
  • Strong cross-functional relationship building with high empathy to understand the needs of other businesses and priorities
  • Comfortable in a fast-­paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation
  • Active participant in defining workplace culture, product manager pathways and organizational design
  • Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users, to press, and other audiences
  • Strong written communication skills and a passion to communicate clearly in written format. An ideal candidate will deliver a high volume of written strategy and product requirements individually and collaboratively
  • Ability to conceptualize, manage and prioritize multiple projects for stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills -- balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you

Starting in September 2023, this role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The base salary range for this position in the US is $162,000- $180,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
