As part of the Buyer and Seller organization, the Global Interoperability and Specifications team is looking for a Director to take on the responsibility of managing Visa’s Level 3 (L3) chip acceptance device testing globally.
Visa’s focus for L3 testing is to help ensure that chip terminals that have been configured for deployment by acquirers are correctly integrated into the Visa payment acceptance environment and do not unduly contribute to interoperability problems. This improves acceptance of Visa-branded products.
L3 testing applies to a wide range of chip contact and contactless terminals (e.g., POS, mPOS, ATM, Cloud Based Acceptance solutions, Urban Mobility, Tap to Phone, Fleet, etc.) and encompasses global and regional requirements.
In this role you are expected to -
Flex Work Arrangement - Hybrid Position - This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of work experience with
an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
• 6 or more years of relevant experience in payments industry, product management and testing.
• Educational background in Computer Science/Engineering.
• Experience managing partnerships that require systems/technology integration with both backend
as well as UX/UI components.
• Fluent in discussions about web-based portals, APIs and machine-readable formats.
• Strong knowledge of interoperability chip testing, best practices, and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of EMV chip – VIS, VCPS, EMVCo books, card personalization, etc.
• Reputation for being a collaborative thought partner and business leader, with ability to organize
and motivate work across multiple team boundaries.
• Proven track record of managing products with demonstrated ability to facilitate planning across
multiple teams.
• Cross-organizational interaction ability – experience working outside of a single silo.
• Cross-functional experience – working on projects with both the business and technology to
accomplish a shared goal.
• Experience in working with agile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g.,
JIRA.
• Proficiency providing technical support to external customers and identifying business
requirements.
• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Experience in managing and maintaining programs.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of binary and at least one programming language is a plus.
• Knowledge of using test tools is a plus.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
