The Engagement Product Team at Nextdoor is responsible for enhancing and optimizing the overall experience for neighbors on the Nextdoor platform. This team focuses on developing and refining products that drive deeper engagement and satisfaction. As a Product Manager on the team, you will have the opportunity to lead core product functions in the ecosystem. Ultimately, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a strong, active, and inclusive community on Nextdoor.

In this role, you will:
- Be the Product Lead for key products in the Nextdoor Engagement ecosystem, examples include Content Creation, Messaging, For Sale & Free marketplace, among others
- Develop a comprehensive vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product areas you lead to ultimately deliver value for neighbors which leads to business results for Nextdoor
- Create delightful products that solve core needs / jobs-to-be-done (JTBD) of neighbors, ultimately delivering more value to neighbors
- Lead the team with urgency while holding a high bar for quality. You will drive product requirements definition, product planning, product design, and product execution of new features and enhancements
- Run experiments to optimize metrics that matter to your product area and to the business overall, while keeping the neighbor experience at the forefront and optimizing for the long-term
- Work closely with cross-functional partners (product management, data science, engineering, insights, design, editorial / content, marketing, and partnerships)
- Use data, user research, logic, and systems thinking to inform decision making, whether for prioritizing a roadmap, evaluating an experiment, or creating a tracking spec
- Collaborate with fellow PMs on projects & products that require XFN coordination
- Communicate at the executive level on progress & performance
- Obsess over the operational performance of your product area by proactively managing key metrics and partnering with engineering, design, and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes on time
- Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises; build in-person relationships with and contribute to the KIND culture Nextdoor values
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 6+ years Product Management experience shipping great consumer products with user-generated content in an agile environment, preferably including work on social networks
- Strong track record of driving results users & the business while working in an ambiguous environment; ability to lead an area without a ton of historical knowledge / experience
- Ability to engage directly with a broad spectrum of cross-functional partners, both technical and non-technical, and provide added value in conversations with each of partners
- Strong attention to detail, paying attention to pixel-level details and edge cases, innate curiosity at understanding unexpected data, and holding a high bar for quality from yourself and others
- Comfort working across the product development spectrum: strategy, ideation, product specifications, technical implementation details, development, and QA
- Ability to experiment and learn quickly, and iterate on the user experience to provide value for our users and for the business
- Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way
- Investigative instincts, with the ability to sift through symptoms quickly to find the root cause
- Excellent written and communication skills especially to senior executives
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $144,000 - $213,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
