About Atomic:
Atomic is a venture fund that founds companies. Founded in 2012, we believe that disruptive innovation is most successfully achieved by pairing innovative ideas with business discipline, and that building those ideas into businesses is not something that can be outsourced. We are engineers and entrepreneurs who build and operate the next generation of great companies.
About the Company:
We have a bold and ambitious mission of fixing the broken childcare system in America by making high quality child care more affordable and more accessible. As one of our first employees, you’ll be responsible for building much of what our company will become, and you’ll be directly responsible for helping shape our solution to the childcare system. We will compensate you well, invest in your development and career progression, and we’ll make sure this is one of the best work experiences.
The Role:
We’re searching for a head of product that’s excited to tackle ambiguity head on as we build the company’s core product, and you get to call the shots. The product that you build will need to inspire connections and community; the little details count here.
You’ll be tasked to build a product with trust and safety top of mind and work with multiple stakeholders and leadership on a frequent basis. With trust and safety, there’s a variety of tools necessary to be integrated in the product you build; you should be comfortable with working with a variety of API’s and integrations.
Quick experimentation and product pivots are core to our company’s roots; this company’s first products were built with no code tools that allowed our team to iterate rapidly.
You’ll also need to be an expert at analytics - we’re not looking for a “set it and forget it” head of product. In this role, you should constantly be monitoring analytics to look for improvements, whether major or minor. You should be excited to use data to inspire new product additions and ideas, and work to allocate resources to best implement
Most importantly, this team has a passion for solving childcare - our culture is important to us. We’re looking for someone that is open to collaboration and is humble with even their biggest wins.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate the current buildout of the product to inform future versions.
- Perform interviews with current and potential customers to add additional product specs and features.
- Improve upon and become the owner of our current product roadmap, defining key goals and dates for product releases.
- Lead product launches, coordinating with all parties involved.
- Prioritize new feature requests and allocate resources to implement as efficiently as possible.
- Measure key performance with app usage and have an analytics first mindset to inform of any and all product improvements.
- Be responsible for building out the product team.
- Conduct market research supported by on-going communication with customers and non-customers.
What You Have
- 4+ years of experience building products.
- Strong written and verbal skills to efficiently and effectively communicate with design and engineering teams.
- Understanding of Data Architecture and Analytics toolkits and languages.
- Excitement to roll up your sleeves, solve problems and build long-term solutions.
- Experience working on a startup’s early-stage founding team.
Who You Are
- Comfortable self-directing and prioritizing your own work.
- Scrappy and “hustle” mindset.
- Ability to envision the short term and long term horizon of the product.
- Ability and excitement to constantly iterate.
- Results oriented with a bias towards action.
- Good-natured, humble, and a generally positive person.
- Growth-mindset with a healthy dose of skepticism.
- Strong sense of responsibility with a bias towards action.
We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply.
