The Role
TheFork is taking ambitious steps towards becoming a digital product focused organization. This means we need to develop a strong and reputable Product Design & Research organization to ensure a cohesive experience across our channels and touchpoint, for all our customer-types worldwide.
The job of a Product Designer is to envision how people experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined and even magical. In a Product Designer role, you’ll take on complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs. Ideally, the candidate has worked in a collaborative team environment and has experience of interacting with multinational colleagues. This role demands constant evolution and adaptation as the product, market, and consumer needs evolve.
You will
- Understand the different approaches to user research and actively stay informed about new techniques and the pros and cons behind them
- Explore different ways to solve design problems and successfully identify the best solution
- Identify ways to innovate in micro-interactions on digital products and experiences
- Effectively bridge design and engineering through your understanding of front-end development
- Help create user typologies, user journey maps, usability tests, and other user research methodologies
- Work on a range of interaction models and apply it to thinking about user flows through an experience
- Collaborate with Senior/Lead Designers and Product Managers in defining the product strategy
- Help evolve brand style guidelines and design systems
- Promote the importance of UI copy
- Apply motion theory and principles in your work, especially in prototyping
- Present your work in an engaging, clear, thoughtful manner
Qualifications
- Roughly 1 to 4+ years experience working as Product Designer
- Proficiency with Figma
- Front-end development skills are a plus, but not required
- Communication: you effectively interact with others to build relationships, influence, and facilitate the sharing of ideas and information. You use tact and diplomacy to navigate difficult situations
- Learning Mindset: you continuously seek opportunities to learn, question the applicability of past approaches in the current environment, own growth, and embrace failure as a learning opportunity
